Unfortunately it's pretty late and it's an older game so not many takers. Maybe there's something better I can gift?

I'd say it might be more because everyone already owns the totally awesome Rayman Origins and less that gaffers are butts.

Seriously guys it's a ton of fun, either take up dupy's awesome offer or pick it up yourself for some whimsical, tight platforming fun.

Strangers Wrath HD is fantastic and probably my favorite of all the HD remakes out there. Replayed the whole game in two sittings (its also one of my favorite games but hey still).

Cant remember if I had that gamepad issue but I was having too much fun to care. Love that game.

Never played Munch's cause I didnt have an xbox back then, they need to get on that.

Bought the Oddworld Collection when it was first released and experienced nothing but problems with Strangers Wrath. The game was functionally broken when they sold it. PC gamers basically funded the PS3 alpha and beta phases of the HD port. It was funny and sad watching JAW's CEO slowly unravel on the forum back when it first released.

Without going into too much spoilery detail, does Amalur's story ever... really pick up? The combat in the demo is rockin as hell but I feel like it would just be weird to play an RPG where the story part of it couldn't pull its own weight.

Also sweet jesus are some of the areas huge. You can kinda tell they were wanting to do the MMO from how massive yet hollow some of the areas are.

Have you played it now? afaik it's totally fine ever since the HD update

the oddbox collection was totally broken but they always said they'd update to the HD versions for free, I waited, they did, and it worked fine.

I noticed that the framerate limit option doesn't work. It's set to 100 by default, but I was getting 155fps in-game, which was causing 104% GPU utilisation. Enabling Vsync did the trick, though.

Strangers Wrath has been on my wish list for a while.

How are the m/KB controls?

The port quality seems a bit iffy from what you guys have been saying.

Interesting.

Both Bioshcok Infinite and Defiance went up by 20% today despite both dropping lower on the Top Sellers chart.

We might have a definitive answer whether the pre order rewards are rigged.
That is no proof. The games above it may just be selling fast. Is that the biggest discount Far Cry 3 has had?

Think about it guys. It's the hats.

I had no intention of pre-purchasing Infinate until the hats were unlocked and that took forever, imo. Now that hats have been finally unlocked, everyone is pre-purchasing because hats! The jump is hardly surprising if you think about how strong the hat-conomy is.
The hats may have got a bunch of people to buy and then when it shot up some 20% into the X-Com territory, that may have convinced a lot of people that were waiting to see if X-com would unlock.

Or it could all be faked. I have a no clue. But $59.99 was an annoying high price but with those hats & X-Com . . . it became tolerable.

So is Far Cry 3 worth $30?

If you like open world theme parks filled with horribly meaningless chores and collectibled, without a semblance of immersion, then sure. Worth giving a try for $10 tops.

tl;dr
It's a Ubisoft open world game
This is why I don't understand why people are excited about Watch Dogs (beyond the graphics).

I can't speak to the kb&m controls, but the port itself seems fine. Most of the issues the game had early on concerned setups with AMD GPUs, IIRC, and I don't know if the HD update improved things in that regard, but it plays very nicely with Nvidia cards, at least: performance is great, there are no visual oddities, and the game is perfectly stable.

Sounds like I should pick this up soon.

Steam overlay has been kida iffy lately

it pops up whenever it wants to on Bioshock 2 for example and it doesnt show up at all on Trackmania 2

Just tested TM2 stadium beta, overlay works fine in menus and in a game.

Speaking of which my keyboard is randomly typing + symbols lately. real bummer. Stupid crApple.

We have assumed that for a long time, we are looking for more definitive proof.

I think we have found it.

Have you guys considered the fact that not every game has to sell as much as the next ?
So less popular games will have to sell less in order to advance faster. And I'm sure the total number of pre-orders can be adjusted as well. I've seen games get much higher percentages in just a couple of hours, and I'm not talking about Bioshock Infinite here, but other, not so popular, games.
And the fact that once a game reaches the third reward it happens to sell more because people already get the previous rewards when they buy it. So the whole thing actually makes sense if you ask me.

I'm certain a game can't always reach 100%. Hasn't been the case so far, but I'm sure of it.

This has probably already been answered at some point, but i missed it so:

Why does Kingdoms of Amalur receive a discount again? I thought it never could since the publisher has gone out of business or something?

When 38 Studios went bust last year, its assets became property of the state of Rhode Island, which affected the Steam version of Kingdoms of Amalur as it's self-published (EA publishes the retail and other DD versions). Tony recently got in touch with a bloke close to the situation who agreed to provide Amazon with 50k Steam keys for the game, and it seems this also spurred interest in having it discounted on Steam itself. Today marks the first time KoA has gone on sale on Steam in exactly 11 months.

Ok thanks, so in short, does this mean it will possibly see other sales in the future and maybe even go cheaper ? If so i will look forward to buying it at some point, been on my wishlist for quite some time now :)

Absolutely. Given today's sale coincided with a base price drop, it'll be quite a while before it's significantly cheaper, but 66% off during the Summer Sale isn't out of the question.

Dead Island is a pretty poorly made game which isn't super surprising based off the budget I'm sure it didn't have.. It also confirmed that I will no longer buy any games from this genre (that it shares with Borderlands) until devs learn that bullet/damage sponges are tedious.

Cosign.

Yet if you're hellbent on trying to replicate RPG style progression and "big" enemies, a grenade is not a proper/interesting substitute for spells, nor is a big clumsy rocket launcher filling my inventory a substitute for summons.

It's the worst game, pretty much.
