I love the bizarre negativity in here. They showed the console, the controller and the new Kinect. They talked about their direction for the console in terms of social and entertainment integration. The multi-tasking alone is kinda huge... Did you want them to blow their entire load in terms of game announcements and footage? The fuck? What would they have for E3?

We know they're focusing on TV integration. we know they're focusing on kinect. we know that there will be used game restrictions.

and we know almost nothing about games.

Maybe MS will shock me and have a ton of great, new and unique games for E3 but right now I'm not interested in this. MS did not sell me on this.

I just... can't believe how BAD that was. It's like they looked at the PS4 event and decided to do the polar opposite. 30 minutes off the bat on media services, then they reward the patience with nothing but CG trailers and cutscenes. Just WOW. And so many damn docudrama promises. Stfu and play a game live on stage! Maybe that rumor about them being months behind on games development had some truth to it, afterall.

This reveal wasn't all that exciting but I personally loved everything they showed in the beginning. A seamless livingroom experience was what I expected and they definitely delivered. I loved how well everything worked together.

With that said, it really didn't have a "new console" feel. Felt like a nice software update quite frankly. They're doing everything they did before only faster and better which is fine but still underwhelming considering what people usually look for in a new console especially with this extended generation we've had. They just improved on the ground work they already set during this gen. There's not much "new". Nothing to get excited about.

And I'm rarely a negative nelly in this regard but the games looked like complete shit. Especially COD. Some of those affects were just laughable. I understand this is a launch window game and they will only get better but you can't show us some montage about how different the games are going to look and they show THAT. It was a real disconnect.

That was an abomination. They delayed an extra month and had the benefit of being able to analyze Sony's press conference and use it as a model and they came up with this?! I mean seriously, it was only an hour and probably half of that was random video filler that was totally meaningless. This could have been 15-30 minutes of actual content given what they showed.

That rumor about them doing crazy last minute hardware revisions and being behind 6 months on development have to be true. There's no other explanation for how bad this was. Honestly, they should have just waited for E3 if this was all they could come up with.

Horrible. No backwards compatibility (no Xbox, Xbox 360, or XBLA games), no used games without paying a fee, Kinect required, no interesting games announced, ads taking up half of the dashboard, services that will probably only work in the US, and no composite or component out (only HDMI out now). What a waste.

The only positive was that there is no always online DRM. PS4 + Wii U or PC + Wii U are the only options now.

It is pretty obvious to me now that Microsoft was completely caught off-guard by Sony. Using live actors in a game reveal(Quantum Break) along side only a few minutes of game footage.
