Hey look guys Nintendo is finally giving us F-Zero =(

In all seriousness, this game looks like a bomb-ass fucking game. I cannot WAIT to get it. I didn't think there was anywhere else to go.

Just skeptical of bikes (tricks tricks tricks tricks.) And wish I could see other Retro tracks besides Music Park and Piranha Plant Slide.

Waluigi Time.

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
What if this is the third Nintendo-Sega crossover and Sega's helping with the F-Zero looking segments?

probably the greatest looking game i seen all E3. would've never guessed it'd be mario kart, i thought they'd half ass it to get it out the door early.

Yup, game looks great. I play these a lot with family at the holidays, so I'm already laughing picturing my mom and aunt racing upside down.

Good title, but man they needed this at Christmas.

Who would have thought this was going to give a better first impression than 3D Mario?

Maturity, bitches.
Well I'm a glutton for Mario Kart so this is a defense but. Still playing the 3DS version. Talking of that version I see two of my favourite tracks from it make a return.

And yes, looks really good. Feel bad for having low expectations for the character models.

This surprised me. It looks great and the gravity mechanic with branching paths evolves the stagnating Mario Kart formula.

Looks like they're re-using 2 MK7 stages: Music Park and Piranha Plant Slide. What the hell is up with that? I hope they're not in the main cups.

Those courses look bananas. Hoping there are some more modes than just Cup Race, Battle, and Time Trial this time.

Where have you been? Retro cups have been in the last three Mario Karts.

Unlike the new 3D Mario, Mariokart 8 looks awesome. The twisted track design looks cool and if they keep the unlimited view distance at 60fps this will be mighty impressive. I just hope they use the same composer who did the music in Mariokart 64 and some of the Mariokart 7 tunes.

most excited I've been for a mario kart in a long time, and I loved 7. I really hope they go all out with tracks and multiplayer modes, I think this was the most exciting game Nintendo showed.

This was the bigest surprise for me during the Direct.

Looks damn nice, and seems to have a tonne of effort put into it. Not at all the lazy safe game I was expecting.

Surprised about how good it looked. The most impressive game of this conference imo. Loving the twisted track design as well, reminded me of both F-Zero and Crash Nitro Kart !

I'm actually semi-relieved it's releasing in 2014 because I feared another rushed game like the 2 previous ones. But the Wii U will have more of a hard time this Christmas without this game...

Surprising how good this looks. It's funny, MK8 was the game I expected to be the most by-the-numbers visually unimpressive sequel, but EAD1 spanked EAD Tokyo and Retro pretty damn hard.

I cannot believe this looks more ambitious than the next 3d Mario
Yeah, the backgrounds and visual style was more what I wanted out of my fantasy "Super Mario Universe". :/

Wonder if the anti gravity mechanic will breath new life into the flat SNES and GBA tracks.

at last, for christ's sake
I was really wowed by it. Great graphics really surprised me, I thought Nintendo would go the cheapo route again as with MKWII

super-impressed. Can already see myself wasting months online

EDIT: OMG these pics...looks GORGEOUSSS

This had to hit December at latest for the good of Wii U. Nintendo are just inviting trouble without pushing it out as a holiday present, because it would have been under the Christmas tree of many a child.

Game looks outstanding though. I noticed Waluigi was racing, which is the biggest megaton of the day. The tracks look insane. Online will be fun.

I was ready to be disappointed as I didn't think Nintendo could innovate but the tracks design look crazy, something out of F-Zero. Best Mario Kart game yet? We'll see.

I was so wrong for retro but at least got mk7 mechanics returning right.
Not too surprising, the glider particularly only added subtlety to the game and now with another dimension with the hoverkart.
I read there was lot of shortcuts, good way to continue on mk7 packed track design.
