This was the bit that made me go "ok, I need this game". I have a thing for Levi xD

You know- yes, a part of misses the FF games pre-FFVII that really forced you to use your imagination a bit more.
This is pretty much how I imagined Leviathan looking during his 'attack' scene on the boat in FFIV.

That said- seeing it realized like this? Fucking awesome.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
I really like the crew. Hopefully it's more "ride or die" and less "you don't understand me!"

Basically, I'm hoping for Bad Boys FF.

I wonder if they won't scrap some of those older CG scenes then? I know we saw some of the same ones in the XV trailer but nothing compared to what we saw earlier.

He looks like a woman in that pic :lol

Hmmm I'm thinking it will be like XIII.

You will get some that will remain in-tact or changed to real-time, some will be fairly similar but then have new additions/scene changes and finally some will be scrapped.

By scene changes/new additions, remember this scene from old XIII trailers?

The majority of footage building up to that scene made it into the final game, but that specific bit was lacking and was changed with that Lightning/Hope moment.

If the whole battle summons to acquire them sticks from Versus when Nomura said that, then it will be fun to see how other summon battles are.

Yeah, also how the original Versus XIII CG trailer (with old Noct) has now been completely removed for the ingame sequences we saw in the gameplay trailer (of him being shot at on those steps by all the guards)

lol is this the first jrpg that has a bunch of player controlled male characters? usually when i look at the roster it's just 1 male and 5-10 female characters.

IIRC, Nomura said that happens near the beginning of the game, but his abilities wouldn't be at that level until near the end of the game.

This is really not that surprising because we know that Nomura's own personal taste in stuff he directs is that he doesn't like using CG movies during the game. I don't think he'll have a choice in FFXV, just like Matsuno didn't have a choice in FFXII, but we should expect a similar style of direction which favors realtime cutscenes and realtime stuff over CG.

A good comparison is to look at how Nomura goes from marketing to design in the KH games. The KH opening movies and teaser stuff are always CG, and they show scenes from the actual games themselves - usually major set pieces, all in CG glory. But in the games themselves the set pieces and scenes are all realtime cutscenes or playable sequences instead.

Yeah, I'm kinda glad tbh, as good as some of the CG looked in the earlier trailers it actually looks kinda dated now, it'd be weird for them to be in still.

Aw. So we still don't know anything about the woman in my avatar. I hope they don't pull a "Jihl Nabaat" on her. We all know how deep a role she played in XIII. -__-

These cast actually looks pretty cool, I can't wait to see whatever the story is play out, as this looks to be a very cool cast, especially along with every other character announced.

I'm very curious about this character

As Kagari has said he's voiced by Keiji Fujiwara, which hopefully implies he'll be a playful side character a-la Reno or Axel and be voiced by Quinton Flynn in the english version.

But the newer CG looks ungodly. I'm definitely happy to have a mix. The CG scene with Noctis in the car going through the checkpoint is one of the most amazing CG sequences I've seen for a videogame. The level of realism in the composite is breathtaking.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
They look painfully generic.

Yeah, it's amazing.

I hope the scene with Noctis and Stella confronting each other in the street is remade but still in CG, it seems like a really big moment.

Maps in FFXIII looked like this.

Edit: I can't find a good image for it.

(._. )

Ahahahaha.

It could just be an open area, they were in XIII as well, but unless we get confirmation that it's actually open world extrapolating that from a minimap is dangerous.

They basically confirmed that they're going to do sequels; that's where you will get your playable Stella.
