CD Projekt Red surprised Xbone skipping Poland at launch, "a sad situation"

Marcin Iwiński of Polish studio CD Projekt Red says the omission of Poland from the list of countries supported by the Xbox One at launch is "a sad situation."

As it turns out, nobody at CD Projekt had any idea that this was going to happen. "I was just in a restaurant and saw the list," Iwiński told Game Informer. "I was surprised, and I really hope that it isn't final. I think Polish gamers will speak out loud. From my perspective, it's a sad situation."

What must've sucked for them is they showcased their game at the Microsoft press conference, and yet the console itself won't be in Poland at launch. Would've made me a little irked to say the least.

Man, you let them come up on stage and you don't even give them a heads up on this?
That's ugly and not the way to treat your partners.

The limited amount of countries in which Xbox One is releasing (probably because of its stupid TV tie ins) is fucking retarded, and it not even launching in a large part of eastern Europe is beyond ridiculous.

Nobody cares about xbox anyway in poland.

Game shops only usually carry everything playstation, sony even translates most games into polish.

Witcher 3 on Xbox cancelled.

Lol.

Theyre in a weird spot with the XBO right now. The system wont be sold in their home country and it utilizes DRM methods that theyre always speaking out against.

“I am sure that a lot of gamers will choose one of the consoles for its convenience and easiness of use—that’s fine, and by doing so they will agree to whatever rules the platform holder will impose,” Iwiński said. “What I can, however, guarantee here and now, is that if you want the 100 per cent DRM-free experience you will have it on the PC, the platform where we set the rules for our games. The Witcher 3 will be available 100 per cent DRM-free on our digital distribution platform GOG.com, and that’s one thing I can confirm.”

Use the situation to advertise GOG, lol.

It doesnt even matter, with the restrictions microsoft is putting in, smaller countries like poland will gobble up the PS4.

This should be solved by the time TW3 releases.
Just realized Portugal is in the same boat but most people here don't care about xbox anyway.

Not to mention the whole DRM outcry considering how anti-DRM the studio is.

So the console isn't launching in their home country and has heavily anti-consumer with DRM. Why not be at Sony's conference instead CDP?

Xbox One? Sure. 360? Nah bro, it's almost a 50/50 situtation.

Microsoft also translated many games on 360 into polish.

Oh well at least with the money ms gave them to debut the trailer I'm sure it'll be enough to finance the next witcher.
