Yeah I'm assuming Blaziken is the only starter with a mega evolution.
Unfair.![]()
Nah I'm pretty sure at least every starter will get them. They just mentioned Torchic because it's a popular one and had him done. Maybe down in the line we'll get to see the rest.
In monster pet media, this is a Digimon thing dude. I know it must be hard to admit that but conflating this as a generic super mode that all shonen do seems pretty ridiculous. You said what Digimon does is not a shounen thing. I believe I have provided ample evidence to the contrary! Reference every magical-girl show in history. Though I guess it'd be more shoujo huh.
Oh please. The Pokemon who can't Megaevolve are all Vegetas

Makes me wonder if Infernape will get his announcement soon.
Because it's literally Son Goku!
Why not "Dragoonite" or "DracoNite"?Not Dragonite.
Cause its mega evolution stone would have to be named Dragoniteite. And that's too dumb even for pokemon.
Hopefully Mega Forms have access to new powerful moves that have no drawbacks. To further differentiate them from the rest of the... Normies.
Digimon Adventure PSPAnyway, unless you can show a digimon game with a similar mechanic, it's still an original mechanic, even if the idea is similar to power ups in the digimon anime.
I hope they give megavolutions to the starters that need them (Charizard, Typhlosion, Meganium etc)

It's not even a big deal, this is really cool that it's being added to Pokemon. I'm just surprised at all of the denial.
Really unfair.
Mega evolutions are probably just a gateway to different abilities, higher stats, and potentially new typing for a battle. I don't think moves could be mega exclusive. What would they do when you aren't mega?
We'll see. Hopefully!
I'm surprised no one mentioned Korrina.

Well that's because it's based from the animeDigimon Adventure PSP
They did this one in 2011.
I mean.. they do it. It's not really up for debate. It's a shounen thing. Digimon likely took its inspiration from that. We're only disagreeing on whether these Pokemon games looked to Digimon for inspiration, or just looked to the vast well of existing super-move inspiration that is virtually all of shounen/shoujo media. You seem to think it's "obvious" that Digimon is what inspired them, but there's not really any information to suggest what their inspiration was whatsoever. My point is just that Digimon is hardly the only thing that does this, and shouldn't be assumed to be the source of inspiration by default.
Because honestly, I have the feeling Game Freak barely acknowledges that Digimon even exists.
We'll see. Hopefully!

By certain moves you have getting upgraded into more powerful versions with different stats and effects.
For some reason, I keep seeing her helmet as a duskull.
Did they mention what type she specializes in?
You go mega and find you have a new move list preset for maximum efficiency.

Or they stay the same.
How dies one mention typhlosion and meganium and not feraligatr. The only started that needs it most is the fat penguin whatever his name is.I hope they give megavolutions to the starters that need them (Charizard, Typhlosion, Meganium etc)
Guessing from the trailer, but it may be Fighting type, I'm guessing - her badge is shaped like a fist. For some reason, I keep seeing her helmet as a duskull.

No its not ridiculous, this is pretty much the equivalent of power ups in shonen stories. In monster pet media, this is a Digimon thing dude. I know it must be hard to admit that but conflating this as a generic super mode that all shonen do seems pretty ridiculous.

It looks like a Mienshao skull.

Is it safe to assume Sableye is going Mega
And real talk I want Mega Gardevoir the Ultimate waifu

The blaziken stone is only available on Oct 12th? Lame >_>.
Maybe next gen they will introduce hybrid pokemon. Such as a Miltank and Tauros breed to produce a calf pokemon that evolves into either of its parents based on gender. They could also do other real life hybrids such as Mules, Ligers, Camel/llama hybrids, there are tons of plant hybrids, etc.In a way we already have the generic fusion system; it's called pokemon breeding.
Only difference is we don't lose the original pokes.
Perhaps when you get the mega evolution it allows you to learn a move such as Volt Tackle, Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, Hydro Cannon, etc. without the need of a move tutor.Really unfair.

Uh, No?
The distribution starts October 12th and goes to January 15th...
