As mentioned, should have been one big ( touch ) screen. Doesn't hinder 3DS compatibility ( per se ), but introduces a world of potential.
This would have been a day 1 purchase for me.

Nintendo is saving the combined screen concept for their next handheld / console hybrid.

That would kinda perfect if this is region free.
I honestly don't understand. Is there some application of two cameras outside out taking 3D images?
What's the screen size in comparison to the others?
Apparently I didn't realize the influence I had, and now this has happened.Nintendo appears to have taken a page from Apple's book, and is now doing annual hardware revisions of its own, all while maintaining compatibility with a vast library of software and gradually building the means to sell that software direct to consumers through an online store. This isn't a knock against Nintendo: if the market responds positively to something that a company can reasonably do, it would be foolish for them not to pursue it.
It's a good thing Pokemon is becoming more and more touch-operated!Typing in caps doesn't make your point more valid.
Show me a 5 year old with hands that are large enough to comfortably use that thing.
Goddamn I really want this.As mentioned, should have been one big ( touch ) screen. Doesn't hinder 3DS compatibility ( per se ), but introduces a world of potential.
This is just silly! I still can't understand why Nintendo took a 180 over their 3D. What about playing Mario 3D Land on it?

THIS SYSTEM IS DESIGNED FOR 6 AND YOUNGER, THAT'S WHY THE DEVICE IS BUILT LIKE THAT. IT'S A VERY SMART MOVE BECAUSE IT IS LAUNCHING WITH POKÉMON X & Y.
That looks pretty
Gonna say this right because apparently it is even going over GAF's head.

The console isn't designed for us, it's straight up for kids.
Streetpass doesn't require sleep mode and this has sleep mode anyway. So does Streetpass not work with this thing since you can't close it?
That seems like an awfully esoteric problem that could be better solved with an update considering how cut to the bone this is meant to be.I think it is because of the AR cards. In order to work, they require 3D data - so the monster can come out of the table, etc - even if the system is in 2D.
Same screen sizes as the regular 3DS.What's the screen size?
Either way, I want it!
Games that expect you to use your thumbs on the touchscreen are gonna suuuuuuck on this thing.
Any minute now some dude is going to burst through the door and yell 'IT'S NOT MEANT FOR YOU' before beating them to death with an old Kid Icarus stand.Uh uh.
Nothing big but still they were promoting the 3D effects a lot and made it like the next big thing. It feels so strange to see them suddenly announce a 2D only handheld.I played 3D Land without 3d and loved it. what's the big deal?
