Looking through the site more, they really added a lot of stuff, including:
-English and Japanese voices (your choice)
-Improved town graphics (lots of stuff added in or refined)
-Adjustable encounter rate (how many JRPGs have this?)
-Refinements of chapters 7 and 8
In total, nearly 100 improvements have been made.
Yeah, FFX pal version was based on the 'international' ver if I recall correctly (JP > NA > JPInt > PAL). Typically though (4, 7) haven't the US ver had some improvements/additions over the original release that then goes into the 'international' rerelease?Doesn't Square Enix do this a lot anyway? I recall FFX being improved on it's PAL/US release and then getting the same treatment in Japan as FFX International while having English voices and language on there too.
This reminds me of Inazuma Eleven. The European version used the game engine from the second game (this means no Professor Layton battle, but it does have data for all the Inazuma Eleven 2 characters...).Another major thing (that I mentioned on the first page in a different post) is this version uses the battle system from the sequel that is currently in development. I am not sure if the localised version will include this or the original battle system, but it should (hopefully) include all of the other improvements.
Some GAFfers imported the Jp release no? How did it play like?

The western version will indeed be based on this one.

Great that my lack of faith in these two companies was unfounded. This time. Can't wait for this.
Nintendo has a reputation for consistently delivering the best localizations in the biz, so not sure from where that half of your distrust stems.
-English and Japanese voices (your choice)
Probably the fact that operation rainfall had to exist for certain titles to be considered for the US might be it.

KEEP IT THIS WAY FOR AMERICA PLS
So NOA will delay it to 2014 when all localization is done just for the heck of it ( I know marketing -_-) ? Great even Japan will get english version before US lol.
BDFF was already confirmed, though. And this isn't even a Nintendo game, so... the comparison doesn't really work.

NoA probably wants the 3DS lineup to looks as nice as it does this year for 2014. Thats the only logical reason for the delay
Huh, if it's that way the game cart may be 4GB versions, the original Japanese version was 1.95GB, unless the voices were compressed, hope it isn't, uncompressed will be great.
Nintendo's localizations are good, but their track record for publishing is not. It wouldn't have surprised me at all of they didn't bother with For the Sequel and just stuck with the vanilla game if that was easier for them, especially after how SE has treated international/final mix releases of their games since the PS2 era.
Kind of a shame, actually, since BD's apparently otaku-ish script sounds like the perfect fit for 8-4's style.

This is mixing up unrelated issues though. The problems with Nintendo's approach have to do with them skipping titles that by all rights should have been localized. Anything that Nintendo ever does publish in the West is impeccably localized, however. I can't think of a single example in their history where Nintendo has brought out a gimped version of a Japanese title.
The big worry here -- and it was a serious worry -- was that both Nintendo and Square-Enix would choose to skip over this title completely. But once it was announced, we could feel pretty safe knowing that it would be treated well.
I suspect 8-4 is working on something else they might be a good fit for.
Horray! The western version will indeed be based on this one.
