Dat Vita TV...

So I'm surprised they're packing it with a DS3 controller. How is it gonna work with touchscreen stuff on Vita games? I'd have figured a DS4 would be a more sensible choice.

Price is the obvious answer, except that I don't know that I buy that, the DualShock 3 is still way costly (though the markup is always high, and with the death of on-the-couch multiplayer as well as the exclusion of third-party controller licensees there's been no call to drop the price) and there aren't a lot more components in DS4 far as I know that DS3 doesn't have (similar gyros, likely similar BT chip, added touchpad, probably same battery, mostly refinements after that.) They're saving a few bucks putting the old controller in the box, but not that much by my wholly-guessed calculations, and in the long run...

The Vita TV would have been a much more viable product with a controller that could handle the vast majority of titles made for it, now I'm worried that not only will Vita TV exclude some key Vita games, it could hold back new Vita games (not that everybody loves rubbing to uncover the map...) that try to use all the features of Vita but that need to be mindful of both platforms it'll be sold on.

so this basically mean the expensive part of vita is the screen right? if they can sell vita hardware without screen and controller for just $100

PS Vita TV means you can play your PS4 on any TV in the house if I'm reading that right. Genuine motherfucking megaton right there!!!

Holy shit @ that Remote play for the Vita. I didn't think I could pause it on my PS4 and take a Vita to work and continue playing. That's nuts.

Anyone have that, I think Star Trek, gif where the text says something like *far in the future date, E3* and the guy says "Where in the hell was The Last Guardian"

I'm buying one of those things so fast and immediately trading in my Vita the second it's announced for the West. I almost exclusively play my Vita farting around in the house.

Being able to pocket it and bring it anywhere to play any game you want is cool as hell. 100% plugging it in on my monitor at home...at work...everywhere.

With the PS Vita TV you could actually remote play the PS4 to any other TV in the house. Pretty cool. Vita, PS1 and PS2 games on the big screen sounds pretty decent though, but I'll probably still just get a normal Vita instead.

Sad to see no TLG, but honestly, they announced some big stuff, I think they're saving TLG for TGS.

EDIT: Also, how was she playing Knack at school on her Vita?!!

Gaf dying too much after Andrew House came in... The only take aways from this was deep down, vita remodel, vita tv, super remote play, the ending trailer and lastly that the PS4 hardware is a sexy beast

So basically you can play PSP/PSV games on a tv now.
And use it to Remote Play PS4 on any tv? Like the WiiU tablet screen just on a different tv? correct?

That feeling...
That felling when you ask yourself "was that it!?"

I knew I shouldn't have fallen for it, I knew I would get hurt, and I did.

A Day with Playstation will be the Rosetta Stone of all gifs. The audience losing their minds over Killzone was one of the best things I have ever seen.

When I saw that light go across the PS4 after turning it on, my eyes were like O_O

That better happen. I love it.

I thought remote play had to be like a local network thing. Didn't know I can play Vita games anywhere over wifi. Definitely getting a vita now.

Wait so you can just put in a Vita Cartdrige and play on the TV with your DS3/4??
And play your PS4 games on any TV in your house?

For a 100 bucks??

So fucking sold if that's the case. There are many games I'm interested in + all the PSP games.

Vita TV connected to PC monitor

PS4 gaming most of the time
Can remote play on PC monitor when the lady is watching TV

woo~

So after this conference showing I can safely say "this was TOTALLY worth it to stay up and watch." I was not expecting this much stuff just wow. I got like 2-3 games I'm interested in on PS4 and Vita, and VitaTV has got me hyped.

Sony you got me, I was not expecting this many reveals.

A new Phantasy Star, Deep Down looking good, new Suda game and a 64 GB mem card. This wasn't a total waste of time after all, but also not mindblowing.

Well, I'm satisfied.

I liked the Deep Down gameplay (visually still looks real good). Yakuza Ishin will get a PS4 version, which is cool. And it's nice to see Level-5 making a PS4 game. Of course Yakuza and the Level-5 game aren't guaranteed to get localized, but it's still neat as if they're out there they have a chance.

Plus, PS Vita TV could be neat, though I'm still not entirely sure how it will work. (Did they say that I could play Vita games through the PS4? Meaning I could use PS4 features like Twitch on Vita games? Because if so, I'll get PS Vita TV when it's out in NA.)

I think you forgot knack translation, watch dogs translation, and "I'm going to get your life"

Gotta say, I was just in Marrakech and could have done with Vita TV in my hotel. Just connect up the little box to the big screen coupled with a DS4 and played on the big screen. For $100 that's not bad at all given the regular Vita is double that price and confined to a small screen?
