I predict mostly 9's with the negatives being that it still has shortcomings in the areas all previous GTA games have had (story), it really isn't all that innovative, and there will be gripes about performance and how it would have been nice to see this on PC or next-gen platforms.

Thankfully didn't have to sign my life away to Rockstar on this one (apparently, from what I've heard, they asked journos - in the UK at least - who were reviewing it to give them their IP address for white-listing - typically, most companies only ask for PSN or XBL GTs so they can prevent bans being passed down in case Sony or MS think they're playing a pirated game) and got the game early via Amazon's fuck-up on Saturday.

I'm 15 hours in, and am still shocked at the amount of polish. It's just too good.
Let's just say I didn't like GTA IV that much, but am having a blast playing this game even more than I did San Andreas.

Expecting a lot of perfect scores, but I think some will have valid criticism about redundant missions or scripted sequences, but not enough to bring it down.
Just like in real life.

Have you guys not seen their reviews for mainstream AAA game like Diablo 3, Dead Space 3 etc? Basically a bunch of hyperbole words that will make you cringe. If it's about alleged misogyny, it probably will be selective picking instead of GTA V.

Ehrm I don't think anyone is expecting GTA5 to bomb. GTA4 has an incredibly high metacritic score and is a pretty average GTA game. From what we've seen and heard GTA 5 has improved on GTA4 on nearly all aspects.
