Games UK: PS3 digital content to carry over to PS4 [Sony: Nope]

Because they want it to be tied to your account without having to certify disc. You could activate it on endless accounts with one disc, if not. In fact, it's totally why i think it's real, because it's only about digital games.
BTW, guys, it's about Gaikai, please stop saying PS4 isn't BC locally, we already know this and there's no chance that could change. But Gaikai will offer BC, it's official, it has already been said in the thread, maybe it's new for you (in fact it's new for me too), but it's real, Yoshida is saying this here.
The big news (maybe not true) in this is that it allows already digitally purchased PS3 games to be played on PS4 without additional fees. So, you keep all your account value.

I would like Sony to at least allow PSN and PS2 HD remakes to be ported over easily and be made available for free.
I think this is first time I will be using the last gen console more than the new one to play the catalogue of games due to the consoles inability to play previous gen games.
MS could have cleaned up if they incorporated some kind of BC into the Xbone...

I'm not complaining. My PS3 isn't going anywhere.

Yeah, probably Gaikai. I expect you can buy games through Gaikai. So it would make sense that games you already bought on PS3 should already work. Would have been a massive fuck up if they didn't. lol.
How many digital PS3 games are there anyways? 200-300? That's including a lot of the smaller stuff. Shouldn't take that long to get everyone on board. Just get TLOU, GTAV, and MGS HD certified asap and i'll be a happy camper.
Just a Sales Assistant at GAME. Was at one of these earlier in the week (Sony reps are travelling to all the stores to give everyone training basically) and they didn't mention anything about this. They said it wasn't backwards compatible and that Gaikai would be up and running in 2014 providing the UK internet was up to scratch but that's it. So if this is true then it's a sudden change within the last few days that for some reason Sony aren't shouting from the rooftops about.

It's something that's being considered, as far as I heard from my visit today. "No PS3 plus games on PS4" was also written vertabim in the notes that this store took.

The publisher could include vouchers for the PS4 versions if they wanted, but I think they would rather sell you two copies in most cases.
Highly unlikely that this means any real form of BC. Free access to the PS4 ports of things you've already bought as they become available, maybe.

I would imagine that PS+ on the PS3 is one of the ways Sony are going to help maintain sales of that console. By not allowing them on the PS4, they keep that advantage (if this is true). It makes strategic sense to me.

Totally true! They have figured out a way to emulate the cell... but just for digital games. Reading blu rays is too hard for the ps4. Also, they didn't want to say anything about it because they were afraid that it would make people buy the system. So it's been a secret. It also upscales all games to 1080p/60fps. It's magic.

Not really, Those will be available offline, from what I'm thinking, if all PS3 digital content was playable it would be via Gaikai in 2014. Where as those games you listed have been ported )ad improved) for the PS4 and will be free if you already have them.

Or Sony briefed their largest UK retail partner about some Gaikai details they were finalizing such as payment structure and one of the available payment structures is that any Digital PS3 titles purchased will be available with a PS+ subscription via gaikai when it launches.
Or can you confirm they aren't going with that model? the reason to differentiate between retail and digital for this would be if someone wants to play TLoU on Gaikai next November they have to buy on PSN for £30 rather than buying pre owned for £8.
I dunno, if it is Gaikai related then the rep who did the 'meeting' I was at said they had no information on how it would work in regards to pricing.
