Awesome news. Despite a few kinks they did an amazing job. Since Feb they have been on an amazing run. Easily the best launch for a console ever in terms of hype and preparation. Well deserved.

I'm going with yes and yes in answer to your questions.
No way MS don't hit 1 million day 1 world wide. The question is how many they have in the US.
For PS4 in Europe I'm going to guess at around 250k just for the UK (PS3 did 160k) and about 100-150k for Germany, France, Italy, maybe 70-100k for Spain. All numbers from my ass but taking into account the PS3 numbers.

For NA I'm thinking similar as well (maybe a little lower for Xbox One). Worldwide numbers though? Impossible.

Assuming that all those PS4 have been switched on, it's 0.5% failure rate . I have a hard time believing there are so few defective units.
But if confirmed, it's a great success
