Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Import Thread

What.
It has probably some of the worst water this gen, if not the worst. When Lightning walks in it it's like she's not even there from what I've seen.

*insert obligatory complaint about how LR is still not up on PSN*

I think he's being sarcastic.
This has got to be one of the ugliest end of generation games out there.

Yeah, I know, now.

Also, an update for the people who're getting it from PSN, I was on twitter and saw Falcom tweeted that a new piece of Sen no Kiseki DLC would be coming out today around 10 AM in Japan, so I guess LR will also be available for download then from the Japanese and other Asian PSN stores.

The reason for it being from 10am is so people dont go purchasing the PSN version over store copies basically.

Japan has a real sense of "fair play" which is usually stupid in general, but at the same time from a business perspective makes sense on paper I suppose...

The pre-order that comes with the Cloud costume is still up for 338 HKD.

EDIT: Oops, you found it first. There's no hidden cost... I think. Why would there be?

I just never thought it would be that cheap, seems too good to be true. I'm anti digital, but tempted, I'm looking at like £60+£70 just to get the same copy physically so I was a bit suspect of the price. Do you just make an HK PSN account and buy it? Dumb question but it's too good to be true... TOO EASY, saving so much money, with an English language store and everything. I'm like an excited child right now.

Play-asia sell PSN codes.

Buy digital codes from somewhere. Dunno who has the best rate, but Play-Asia carries them.

They send it to you by e-mail ?

Also is LR getting a release on PSN on launch day ? I am thinking this is more convenient than importing it physically!

Play-asia sell PSN codes.

That's basically what I did. Make a Hong Kong account and buy it. Sadly, the game's gonna be in Chinese and Korean though, not English... or Japanese.

The weird thing is that the store has a page for the Japanese language version but it's only sold in disc form only. Quite strange.

Also, it seems that the pre-order retail version come with Cloud and 4 other samurai variations while the bundle with the controller comes with Cloud plus 7 samurai variations.
Regretting my digital purchase since the Singapore physical versions might have the same bonuses. The shop I tried to pre-order from couldn't confirm with me on whether it comes with codes.

Chocolina is the quest giver of the Canvas of Prayers. It seems most of those quests are the typical "fetch" type ones, while actual side quests with content are separate.

Play-Asia requires a phone number for digital codes. Is it just automated for a security number or is someone going to call and harass me with questions? :(

e:

Seems not, just entered my landline number and the codes were there right away in the screen after. No problems.

omg the graphics are seriously lacking ,and the setting seem haphazard and thinly put together. Not well grounded you know. The reason why this feeling is amplified is I was playing the witcher 2 this morning.lol

I still had some faith that the final game would magically turn out better(graphically) than the trailers lol

Did they reuse New Bodhum theme at the village in the wildlands ? Doesn't seem like it fits here idk

Why are the voices echoing? That part of the game or just the stream?

It's Leta's mic and/or recording interface. You hear the game audio, then the interface picking up the game audio.

100% not the game since PSN trophy pop noises also echo. Much earlier in the stream when his mic was off there was no echo.

In the consumable item shop, the streamer seemed to immediately set the items he bought to the item slots. What happens to consumable items you get in battles/chests (assuming you can still get them this way)?
Also, how do you save? Auto-saves like in XIII-2?

Start > Save.

Man I have to pull myself away from the stream.

Despite the doomsday clock, Light doesn't seem as mad as she was before.

That moggle scene extends to them
knocking her over but she ain't even mad and pets one of them happily!

She also was supporting
Fang in a scene, putting her hands in her shoulder and shit!

ahaha

Yeah, Lightning has shown a few moments of personality in the stream. It's definitely a lot better than the perpetual scowling exposition woman she was in XIII/XIII-2

I I just don't know with this market though since only ios and portable titles are really doing great sales...

LR doing poorly would have little to do with the sales environment and everything to do with the market's perceptions of the title.

ugh the english version of LR and ffx hd are too close together :(

how complicated is the japanese in this game for someone that can do N2? cos 13-2 was all time travel shit i couldnt understand.

Come on...'everything'? Is the sub-series even as ''''hated'''' in Japan as it is in the West?

Most of the console titles aren't doing that big numbers sales wise in Japan and there has definitely been a shift in preference. What makes you say that this is not a big factor when it comes to console games-sales?

How much is due to disinterest and how much is due to a declining market will never be known. However, potentially doing under 30% (assuming ~500,000 copies lifetime) of XIII in Japan alone is not just due to a declining market. There are many factors, and general disinterest is definitely playing a role.
