[Dedication Through Light]

Ok gaf, I started watching an anime called Fairy Tail and now I'm pretty hooked on it. Anyone got any recommendations for something similar? I just read that there is a sequel series being made that starts in April (in Japan) so I'm hoping it will get a translation. Probably one of the few recent series that's really grabbed me, though I do still need to watch the movie.

Probably i guaranteed to be simulcast since it was on Crunchyroll anyway.

Fairy Tail is similar to One Piece, and in that same genre and demographic one could try Hunter x Hunter. Fairy Tail used to be ultimate favorite but then HxH started to blow it away at times.

For once I'm in total agreement with DTL. One Piece and Hunter x Hunter (preferably the newer adaptation which started in 2011) are pretty much the greatest recommendations I can think of for someone who likes Fairy Tail. (And lots of people have been starting HxH around here recently, so you could join in the fun!)

And suddenly, a new animation style. Although it's a little different, it still works and the feel of the series is mostly the same. Time marches on for Detective Conan. The start of a good case, which features the introduction of the no-nonsense detective Juugo Yokomizo, and has Ran's memories starting to return about the events from before the series.

You do have to wonder how Ran and Kogorou drove all the way out there without even making sure their coupons were even valid. Way to go, guys.

Hawaii-Yankee fight scene was crazy awesome. Otherwise a little too much male gaze (even if that was the point), too much like the first ep, and too little like the second. I picked a good week to switch avatars.

Sakura Trick 02

This show is so enjoyable and easily my favorite new show from this season. I am quite entertained.

Its so refreshing to see an anime where they just make out because they want to and because they enjoy it. Its like the antithesis to basically every other romance anime ever made where the characters spend more time talking about love rather than actually exploring it. This show literally has more developments in relationships in 2 episodes than most shows have in their entire series.

The girls are cute and the interactions between all of them are cute as well. I'm glad the side characters get some spotlight but at the same time not pushing the main pair out of focus. I don't even know how SDBurton survived that study session scene.

In the magical world, noses are nonexistent. In all seriousness, I simply can't care about the characters of this anime, so I'm just dropping it.

I have a tendency to start watching a huge number of shows just to start slowly dropping them until I'm left with 2~3 new shows that I really enjoy.

Very cool thanks for the recommendations, if I'm not mistaken these are Shonen anime right? I was kind of surprised I got into fairy tail as I'm not usually a fan of some popular stuff in this category (I don't like naruto very much). I will give these a shot though.

Is there anything out there that would be considered serious fantasy? I'm attempting to get back into anime so looking for various things. I'm pretty interested in Space Dandy at the moment but we will see how that goes.

This season's been so consistently great after the first 2-3 episodes that I can't almost believe it. We got a fishing competition, Yagi shows his hidden "demonic fisherman" side, and last but not least, we have Miyata and Takamura spend time together, sparring, training and bickering. SO GOOD

Senran Kagura Burst - Hebijo Arc Review

So I finished the Hebijo girls' storyline a little past midnight this morning and I gotta say I enjoyed their story a hell of a lot more than I did the Hanzo girls'. It felt like more effort was put into the writing which in result made the dramatic elements in the game that more powerful. From start to finish you're watching bonds develop and friendships being tested which in the end lead to such an amazing payoff that shows how close these girls are with one of another. For Hanzo, we didn't really have any interactions between individuals like Katsuragi/Yagyuu nor Ikarugua/Hibari. For the most part, all the girls revolve around Asuka, which makes sense somewhat as she's the mainline character in the game), but also fails to create that tight knit family that Hebijo has in spades. For Hebijo, everyone interacted with one another and understood each other to the T (

) which made the final battle so enjoyable as

you guided Homura through Orochi slicing down countless enemies to save her fellow teammates.

Hebijo is much better written because they had more time to flesh out the characters after the feedback from the original game. The hebijo side was added later after all.

You'll find that most of the balance between characters have been corrected once you'll start shinobi versus. and everyone will have more time even if asuka is still the main heroine of the hanzo side.

Really, really fun storyline with fun characters to use.

The memory talk was intriguing but when will they address whats happening in the world outside of the apocalypse, the other side, and looking for ways to get back there.

Tohya's Crew is off to good things, I hope this Minori plan will be good. Cheering them on continuously. I think the writer is definitely enjoying and doing their part well. Its really pleasing.

Check out Fate/Zero. It's not set in a fantasy world like Berserk so maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but it's pretty good.

Another really solid episode. The comedic segments are the highlight of the show and for the most part work. The action is probably the worst aspect of the show and is mostly just there. The thing I like the most about the show though are the characters and character dynamics. Characters play really well off each other such as the God of Learning trolling Yato.

Going back and reading this manga chapter over again, really shows how great of an adaptation this is. The music is a great touch, but the small things that get added to fill this up to a 5 minute episode really helps with the flow and makes it a whole lot better.

Nisekoi Episode 2 - Encounter

That seemed way more intense and dramatic than the manga, actiony even too. If the series truly ends with a Kirisaki end, then it will easily reaffirm my belief that such series are always just bad.

Claude is hilarious and the extra enhancements to expressions around Onodera was a nice touch. Raku as thoughtful and perfect as ever.

Ah, here's the Urara focus episode I was expecting. And to be honest, she got easily the best deal here. Whereas all the others had to share their focus episodes (Karen and Komachi had a joint one, and Rin's had plenty of focus on Nozomi, with Urara and Kurumi taking part in the battle too), Urara had this one almost entirely to herself. The other Cures did show up for the end of the Hoshiina battle, but even then they barely did anything - Urara was the only one who got a transformation sequence or used a special attack, and she spent most of the battle fighting solo.

The one other character who did get some focus here was Syrup, but that's because he's Urara's Designated Love Interest, and the two of them got plenty of sweet bonding scenes in this episode. Syrup is such a massive male tsundere, trying to convince everyone else to go and cheer Urara up before he even considers going and doing it himself...

Butyeah, the moral of this episode is: Urara is adorable, needs more Urara.

We need more dual focus episodes in Precure if anything. It's rather lacking in a post Yes! Precure 5 world.

World Conquest Zvezda Plot Episode 2

Yasu/Odin is hilarious though why always beat up and such. Favorite scene was the house moment and Robin consistently missing and noticing anything weird with, as well as the cooking scene near end. Felt like a slightly pointless episode but really made the group feel like a family.

Like this show so much. I have no idea what's going to happen given no familiarity with the source material so it's this weekly blind venture into a land that leaves me laughing like some old Chuck Jones short.
