Not sure and yes the 13 days thing I don't like but I was told you have plenty of time each day...
Easy Mode = EP cost is less. You recover HP outside of battles, and enemies have less HP.

I think I heard you only get 6 days at the start, and you increase the days by doing quests for people.
Hm, I might do that first just for the hp recovery/EP cost and go for a platinum first run since there is no beat game on this difficulty type trophies.

I've played the demo and enjoyed the battle system and the music, as usual.
I won't comment much on the story shown in the demo. It is already well known how bad it is, and I dare say, whatever was there was worse than in the previous games.
But it's interesting how Toriyama barely didn't evolve as a director. Outside of having a different game direction philosophy (throw as many ideas from the fanbase or from other games into the game as possible), the pace of the demo was just _so_ bad.
Demo spoilers bellow, although they're so vague that I'm not sure if they "spoil" anything. But you've been warned:
The game made a tutorial about how to run away, and adviced us to rush it out and look carefully for the running Snow, in the midst of enemy encounters and other sound effects, and Toriyama thought this was the perfect opportunity to have Hope talking and exposing the narrative? Seriously? Me and my girlfriend were barely able to catch attention on whatever Hope was saying because of everything that was happening around. And then, while Hope was still talking about something, I've approached the chaos and suddenly his monologue was interrupted for a cutscene. Wat? It wasn't even my intention to skip Hope's words.
Seriously, the pace and the exposition time were very poor, and in the last case, felt buggy and clumsy. Toriyama should seriously take a look at games like The Last of Us or Uncharted and see how those games executed the very same thing much better. It's interesting how this same problem happened in FFXIII, and there was no care at all to fix it here neither.
I know Toriyama's hate is already very common, but the man is just a poor director as much as a poor writer. He should be demoted back to cutscene direction and story planning, because that's what he's best at, and have his games script written and directed by other people. LR, much like his other games, are carried by the work of the artists and some of the game designers (mostly the battle directors, and whoever designed and directed the gameplay in Pulse in the original FFXIII).

If you are certain to get it day one,why not pre-order..? just go in a Gamestop,pluck 5 bucks and done(unless you want to go digital).

Probably. But they will cost $4 each. At least that is what they go for on the Japanese PSN.
Not long really. I followed the story, didnt do a lot of extra fighting. an hour tops.
I enjoyed it, but I'm a bit burnt on the DLC stuff from the last game. Probably end up grabbing this when its cheaper =\
Demo is short but it's ideal to get really comfortable with the batlle system for the full game...lots of stuff on screen at first during battles.
You can't do a platinum first run. There are not trophies for difficulty levels, but there are trophies for weapon customization, weapon customization is only available with New Game Plus. You'll have to -- at the shortest -- play through 6 days of the game and then fail, then restart the game via New Game Plus.

I managed to kill the demo boss in 12 seconds... some skills are so abusive. I wonder how long it'll take for the game to give us the truly OP abilities/garbs!
You work with what you got, and SE didin't really offer much in terms of high res images for this game.
I would've preferred a joke OT to be honest.
Was flirting with just renting, but went ahead and pre-ordered yesterday after playing the demo again. The battle system is just too damn fun and I love how the deep customization ties into it. Having more direct control also improves the experience for the better this time around. Can't wait.

Outside of pre-ordering, is there another way to get the Cloud Costume? Decided against buying this day 1 since I'm planning to get Bravely Default tomorrow, but that costume is so enticing.

I really wish SE/Nintendo hadn't planned the releases of Bravely Default and LR within days of each other. I'm so hesitant on picking up LR at launch because I'm getting BD tomorrow, and I won't have time to play LR anyways. But I kind of want the Amazon preorder bonuses (I know, that's such a stupid reason to preorder a game that will be $20 in probably 2 months). I'm really conflicted.

I wouldn't go that far.
I've played both demos and Bravely Default seemed like a much better game to me. I played that demo for around 6 hours whereas I played the LR once and it took like 30 minutes. It was just a demo though and not representative of the full game, so.. we'll see.It helps that I've been in the mood for an old school/traditional JRPG recently and that's exactly what BD is.
