You can see mention of "optical discs" here, though we know that Nintendo Switch uses cartridges. It is just basic practice of securing relevant goods and services, and not confirmation of certain features, products or services. Yet still worthy a mention.

Hey look at that, they are not trying to trademark the word "Switch" but "Nintendo Switch".

EDIT: Ok, this is nothing, I got confused sorry :(

Nintendo trademarked a cartridge design today as well, but the image is not loading

EDIT: To be more clear, Nintendo registred three design trademarks today for:

''Cartridges and memory cards featuring video games; computer stylus; electronic game programs; electronic game software; earphones; microphones; optical discs and memory discs featuring video games; video game cartridges; video game discs; video game memory cards; video game programs; video game software

Cases for toy action figures; charging stands for hand-held digital electronic devices; controllers for game consoles; hand-held video game machines; hand-held units for playing electronic games; electronic controllers for electronic video game machines; power supplies, cables and battery chargers for video game machines; protective carrying cases specially adapted for handheld video games; protective covers specially adapted for electronic games''

Which I expect to be the designs for the Switch Cartridges

Somewhat related opinion: I'm glad they are again making a mild focus on the word "Nintendo" this time around, like with Nintendo GameCube.

Heck, the logo layout is pretty much the same.

Nintendo trademarked the cartridge design today as well, but the image is not loading

Hoo boy, now that's interesting!

If the Switch is able to run WiiU/Wii/GameCube games, Nintendo only needs to sell a separate disc reader that plugs into the dock. "Easy".

Edit: Ok, let's put that easy into "".

EDIT: Hmmm, I jumped the gun, it was trademaked in August 25th, not October 25th looks like its something Pikachu related, prob the 20th annyversary logo

The mark consists of a design comprising the head of a fanciful yellow creature with red cheeks and black eyes.

Too much hype for the Switch is clouding my senses :(

Do you have a link to this? I looked at USPTO, EUIPO and WIPO but didn't see any filing.

Plot twist...

Yeah, you are all right. I looked the date and saw the 25th but didnt realise it was August 25th, not October. So I thought it was a new trademark.

Switch hype is not doing me well I guess :(

Sorry guys
