After being with the company for just over four months, industry veteran Mark DeLoura left Google this past Monday. He announced on his blog today that he had parted ways with Google, explaining that he "enjoyed working with many of the people there" but that "it was not the perfect fit for me."

DeLoura, who has formerly worked at SCEA, Nintendo, and Ubisoft, was hired back in April to be Google's "developer advocate for games." Most recently, he was showing off the Chrome Web Store at GDC Europe, which we detailed here.

Since DeLoura's hiring, there has been a lot of activity in the games space from Google: It was looking to hire a games project manager in May; the Chrome Web Store was announced to have, among other things, videogames for sale when it launches later this year; an investment of between $100 and 200 million was made in FarmVille developer Zynga; and discussions reportedly took place between Google and game developers such as Playfish and Playdom.

Seems like they're having some trouble internally.

(I would also like to predict that this is were John Davison is going)
