My buddy has Warcraft 3 frozen throne. I have WCIII can we play against or with each other on Battle.net? If so, how?

Yes, when he installed Frozen Throne it was a completely separate game. He can choose to either play regular WC3 or the expansion.

I'd recommend you get the Frozen Throne though, because regular WC3 is unbalanced and dead because no one cares about it anymore. It's also boring as shit.
