It's about 20 minutes long, all audio (radio show), 4.7 megs of pure common sense.

Too bad we don't have more of this in this country nowadays...

EDIT; Lou Sheldon heads something called the Traditional Values Organization or something like that, skips my mind.

EDIT II Rise 2 Resurrection; Could a mod edit my title to say (AUDIO RANT)?

I thought this was going to be a rant thread.

Anyway, I informed my wife last night that if I'm in a permanent vegetative state(other than Florida or whereever she is), I want to go to Disneyland.

yeah if im in a vegitative state for the rest of my life, let the rest of my life be served as some sort of living monument in Times Square, dangling from a crane.

hes not getting a divorce because he wants the money.....to spend on lawyers?

ahaha wow, he was really really angry.

The guy hosting that show sounded like the typical loud, obnoxious liberal mouthpiece. Funny thing is I agree with him but he's such a fucking asshole that I'd like to take a bat to his face.

I was hoping this would be a thread where we could all share the countless excellent (but awful) jokes we've heard concerning this case. I was going to link to the Hipinion 'Photoshop Terry Schiavo onto album covers' thread, but I guess that would be a bannin'.

This is seriously the lamest US mediaporn exploitosion since OMG SHARKS 2001!!!!

What? Liberals are usually the ones hung up on and told to shut up by the right-wing media. Yeah, the right-wing media - the ones who dominate talk radio and have the highest ratings on television. I can't speak for everyone else here or elsewhere, but I personally did not see a problem with the talk show host clearly not being able to keep his cool, and also not giving the Reverend much of a chance to speak. I'm not saying this should be a new habit made by the left-wing, because the last thing we need are a bunch of left-wing versions of Sean Hannity. However, this is long overdue, and the fundamentalists trying to hijack the government on a constant basis need a taste of their own medicine every once and a while.

I'm sick and tired of seeing liberals on Fox News get insulted on a daily basis. That in itself is immoral and wrong, so in effect they contradict themselves daily. When I see a conservative on CNN or MSNBC, even if the hosts or other guests disagree, they're almost ALWAYS given a chance to make their case. Even if they are questioned, it isn't to the point where they are trying to intimidate them and make them feel like a loser. It's a lot more civil. That doesn't mean people never lose their temper on those networks, but there's a difference between someone that really is angry, and a network whose hosts know they are going to yell at their guests like a dog that's down before the show even starts.

As he pointed out towards the end, the religious right always act like they can insult and intimidate others; they see no problem with putting their case out in the open as long as it is backed by what they think are decent moral values. The other side tries the same thing, but no -- they need more FACTS! Apparently a church's moral values hold more weight than true logic and reason in today's world, and this is what angered the host. It angers me too, and I can easily hear why he got so upset. That was most likely the best 19 minutes and 33 seconds I heard in my life. :D

I realize that liberals should not downgrade themselves to the level of bickering conservative talk show and news hosts demonstrate, but you can only take so much abuse. The fundies are out of control in this country, and sometimes you have to speak up to be heard. Especially when the people that are against you basically make a living trying to make you look like a moron for no real legit reasons whatsoever. Couple that with the fact that more Americans buy into that sleezy tactic than anything else, and it really should come as no surprise why the host lost his temper so many times during the interview.

I hope it wouldn't be a banning, this case is annoying as hell. I was checking through CNN the other day and almost all the section headlines were SCHIAVO! I told my room mate if the weather headline was relating to Schiavo I was gonna kill her myself :p

Argh, I just sold out. I was walking back to my place, and I was bored. I pulled out the cell phone, brought up the news, and read an article about Schiavo. It was like I was hypnotized or something. I had a little play going on in my head with her parents and Jeb Bush. I believe there was a musical number, sung by the Human League. Luckily I slipped on a warm crawling on the sidewalk and snapped out of it.

I couldn't finish that. The stupidity of that conversation was too much for me.

To be fair, it gets mildly more amusing once the presenter stops even faintly pretending that there's any form of conversation going on.

Though, of course, it doesn't get any more constructive.

I'll risk a banning for this one:

A guy at work says he's so sick of EVERY news outlet going 24-7 on this case. Says it's so much Terri herself just got up to change the channel.

Slightly OT but this liberal/conservative/republic horseshit has GOT TO STOP.

God. America is so fucking corrupt. Whatever happened to fair say? All I read in political topics now is "he's a leftist" or "typical liberal"

America is headed towarded straight to a civil war. Categorizing people does not make peace. It's sad that America the once great country has turned into an empire of baboons. Gah.

Haha, a Christian saying he is part of the culture of life. What irony.

What do you mean? He sounds anti-death penalty too. Anyway, Schiavo should have the tube removed...once she's gone I'll be glad it's all over. It feels weird rooting for someone to die.
