Married (so it's not going to happen), and my mom's name isn't exactly common, but if she was like a Susan or something, I probably would...

...I mean, it would depend on the girl, but if I met an awesome woman who just totally knocked my socks off, would I say, "I'm sorry, you're amazing, but I can't do this because your name's Susan"? Hell no.

I don't know if it would bother me, but if it did, I'd probably just try to use a term of endearment for her or something...

I usually call my mom, mom... not her given name. So it would never be weird. I don't see how it would be weird?

Better question... would you date a girl who looked like your mom?

i've got a customer who shyly flirts with me, even ditching her boyfriend to talk to me. i'd definitely date her but i can't get past the fact that she looks like a younger, taller version of my mom. i feel extremely dirty just thinking about her.

Would you date a girl if you know full well that you will leave the country in about 3 months and live on another continent afterwards?

That depends... is there anything to stop you from taking her along if you hit it off?

Hm. Not sure then. It could still be good times, but if you got attached and then didn't have that person, it could suck pretty badly.

my thoughts exactly. i know (!) that when i date her and - at the end of the evening - try to kiss her, she won't push me away...at least i hope so. but imagining that i fall in love with her and then have to leave...puh...

well, at least she doesn't have the same name as my mom... =)

How about if she had the same name as your sister? I was in that situation once and found it impossible to get past. :\
