I do applaud apple for bringing families together around the table when Dad discovers his child spent $1000 on predatory microtransactions

They are really trying to parent the video game market.

It's a tad much considering you can buy GTA3, VC, and SA and have one hell of a good time. I think Apple is trying to be appealing to a culture of parents.

a cell phone is a much bigger risk to kids than a game console and nudity should be behind a ratings board not some big company and their users. They should ban their movie section with nudity too. All rated R movies should be taken down.

I hate seeing content being parented and controlled. It's like we're dealing with an almighty group of mad parents anymore.

I feel that people are getting offended and they're demanding censorship because they have no idea what it's like to have things taken away or have something they like censored or rejected.

Okay, this whole thing is BS. Pocket Gamer did an opinion piece on Apple's censorship of games

From Telltale's Wolf Among Us, not censored at all

As PG said, that inconsistency is really ridiculous.

I think the inconsistency comes from Telltale rating their game 17+ and Pope rating his game 12+.

Nudity isn't generally considered OK for a 12 year old's game.

Funny thing is, App's own policies only mention nudity as problematic in this paragraph:
Apps containing pornographic material, defined by Webster's Dictionary as "explicit descriptions or displays of sexual organs or activities intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings", will be rejected.

I wouldn't want to be in the head of the person that finds the images or the context they're presented in as "intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings". :S

Did he rate the original version 12+? I'd assume that he would have rated the original game 17+, but after he removed the nudity, changed the rating to 12+.

If he tried to submit it with nudity as 12+, then Apple's decision makes a lot more sense. But it's dumb that they wouldn't just approve it and change the rating.

The original submission was 17+. I lowered it to 12+ after removing the nudity.

In any case, It looks like the initial rejection was a misunderstanding. Apple just contacted me and said the app reviewer made a mistake and that I should resubmit with the nudity option restored.

If I had to guess, I'd say they found the "NUDITY" checkbox in the game's settings and figured it was too risky. Not sure I'd handle it any better if I was a reviewer slogging through submissions.

I'm going to put the nudity checkbox back in (default to off) and resubmit the game over the weekend.

ETA: Damn you guys work fast.

Thanks for the update! I already bought it, I love the way it controls, much more than M+KB. Glad to hear the decision was reversed.

Fantastic news! I'm surprised they even found the checkbox; in my experience with App Store reviewers many of them can hardly be bothered to use it. I think they should probably have a feedback mechanism so that reviewers can ask questions of the developer without outright rejecting an app.

I do wonder though...

sweet. Curious how it plays on touch. I guess i could just try it on my surface pro instead of rebuying it on ipad.

Probably wouldn't compare since it just mimics the mouse... Also the interface on iPad is slightly different.

I'm playing on an iPad 3 and it runs flawlessly.
