A first corner pile-up caused by a Schumi chop on Hamilton. Neither of them will yield, so Michael will take the initiative and thus a season long rivalry will begin.
:lol Probably!

It's the inevitable situation where if Michael yields he's the old guy getting pipped by the new blood and if Lewis slows down he is the one getting beaten by the old guy. So yeah, if it happens in the first corner in the first race, they are both definitely not going to yield.:lol

You just know that those two are going to have a run in with each other sooner or later.

I remember everyone lamenting the fact that we'd never see Michael and Lewis competing against each other, but now after this fascinating off-season it's going to happen and I for one cannot wait.
Wiley old guy will triumph again! (hopefully) So excited for next weekend!

I will be up bright and early to watch qualifying and the GP next Saturday and Sunday mornings. I can't wait to get the F1 season underway too!

Rally Mexico Update

Loeb has Rally Mexico locked up with a much deserved win but with only the 4.5km super special left Seb Ogier is .6 seconds ahead of P. Solberg. Latvala yielded to Hirvonen due to team tactics to give him 4th.

Ken Block would have been in good position to score a point if he didn't have the crash. On the 29.3km SS19 he set the 8th fastest time, 18s faster than Villagra, 14s faster than Wilson and only 4s slower than H. Solberg. I am really impressed with his first rally in the WRC Focus. I still would love to see Travis Pastrana in the WRC since he is consistently quicker than Ken in Rally America.

Update: Petter got second!

Anyone watching the NASCAR race in Atlanta? The Edwards/Keselowski rivalry just took a nasty turn. Edwards intentionally spun Keselowski and he went into air and took a pretty nasty hit into the wall. NASCAR then black-flagged Edwards.

I don't know if Michael will be as forceful as he was before. GOAT of 1994-2002 would have Hamilton off the road instantly with no issue.

Webber is the current chop master.

I want to punch Massa in the face after his latest comments on the new teams.

Ferrari and Massa conveniently forgetting that it's only just recently that teams are close to each other and circa 2001 cars would regularly be 4 seconds off the pace. Just ask Alonso about his time in the Minardi!

New teams are worthless fluff. Fuck them. Loving Felipe even more, mental Massa after that crash.

I'm still waiting for JPM to deck somebody in the face and the inevitable "there goes that Latin temper" comment from DW.

Pretty damn disgusting what Carl did there. HE wrecked himself earlier in the race, I mean sure Brad could have given him a little more room there, but why should he? Brad was there on the bottom and clearly had enough of a run so that when Carl did try to turn down he shot up into Joey and basically ruined both of their days.

Brad was going to have a great finish to go with his teammates win before Carl flat out 100% intentionally wrecked him. Now I don't have any issue with bumping and grinding while racing, but Carl was 130+ laps down, and like I said earlier, Brad had done NOTHING wrong in the first accident. Had both cars been on the same lap, and fighting for position, and Brad had caused the first accident clearly, then pushing him into the wall or gunning for a tire would be semi-fair game, but not full on turning into him at 190+ MPH putting not only the driver at risk, but everyone in the grandstand where the wreck occurred.

Carl should know better, not just because he is a more experienced driver, but also because he was considered a gentleman of the sport at some point. Won't say I was ever a big fan of his, but now I can say I won't ever be. I'm just hoping that NASCAR has the balls to fine him a hefty sum and driver points.

That being said, I hope that in two weeks there is plenty of bumping and grinding, because that is what racing in Bristol is all about. This incident though, had nothing to do with racing in any form at all.

Mercedes have gained 8 tenths supposedly, according to sources.

WOW. Thats would make them the quickest team on the grid.
Is this info from the 100km shakedown test they had at the weekend.
Must have fitted their new wings & DD diffuser.

You're forgetting something rather important.

Kobayashi now has job security.

So he doesn't need to be quite so careful any more...

Sub 2 seconds for a pitstop is completely insane, cant wait to see that in action.

I'm also not surprised at the bbcf1 team being dismissive of Michael, they've all had their little run ins with him over the years, plus the general bias that still lingers from Hill vs Schumacher.

Yes.

It's a massive gain, I'm not sure I actually believe it. We'll have to wait for Friday practice to see if this is true.

I don't believe it. Mainly because Haug has been reported saying that they won't be able to compete for the podium in the first race. And I don't see the point in sandbagging now.

KOOBBAAYYYAASSHHIII. You typed it wrong.

Looking forward to seeing him take it to MS (and watch them take each other off the road).

I'm on the bubble over the Jimmie Johnson problem, but if NASCAR parks Carl Edwards for what happened yesterday, they lost me as a fan.

God, when does the Indy Racing League season start???

Sunday (new road course in Sao Paulo)

I don't know if they will park Carl (I think they should, for at least one race), but I'm guessing there will at least be a monetary and points fine.

edit: It would be interesting to see though if NASCAR does nothing with Edwards how quickly another "racing incident" occurs with a back marker taking out a car in the top ten :lol JR. in 35th again? Well why doesn't he just take out the leader and allow Jimmie to win another race :lol

I've set up a fantasy F1 league on this site; http://www.f1racemanager.com/

It would be great if some of you guys could join as well, a season long league contested by members of this thread would be pretty entertaining I reckon.

The private subleague is called NeoGAF, and the password is gaffers.

To join the NeoGAF league, go to the edit profile option, and choose the change subleague option.

==========================================================

The rules
Joined, but I think I'll do terribly, I tend to suck at fantasy sports! :lol Blue Racing (for now anyway, I'll try to think of something better later)

So here is the brilliant track that has been proposed for the ALMS race in Oklahoma City. You have got to be kidding me... what a pathetic layout. I won't complain if we get the race but I hope the layout becomes something a little more interesting.

I will be signing up for the fantasy F1 thing too.
