Starting this month, we’re rolling out several feature updates inspired by your feedback to select Xbox Insider members. These features will begin appearing over the next few weeks, and your use of these features and feedback around them helps shape our release plans to the broader Xbox community moving forward. Gamers are at the center of everything we do at Xbox – we value your opinions and want you to help evolve the Xbox experience. Over the past few months, we’ve released brand new features to Insiders including Beam broadcasting through the Guide on Xbox One and the Game bar on Windows 10, the Beam app to watch streams on Xbox One, Game Mode on Windows 10, and a preview of Xbox Game Pass. In addition to adding exciting new features, the team has been hard at work continuing to update existing features based on what we hear from you at Xbox Feedback. Below is a summary of what’s starting to ship over the next month to select Xbox Insiders.

Arena:
World of Tanks fans will be able to participate in new tournaments on their Xbox One, created by ESL and powered by Arena on Xbox Live.

Discover tournaments from your Xbox One or Xbox app on Windows 10, get notifications when your match is ready, jump directly into your match on the Xbox One, enjoy automatic results reporting, and show off the results on your activity feed.

Profile and Activity Feed:

Custom gamerpics are finally here! From your console, Windows 10 PC, or mobile phone, update your gamerpic with a custom image. We’re excited to bring this top fan-requested feature to Xbox Live and expect it to be in preview longer than other features to ensure it’s great for everyone when released.

New ‘Join broadcast’ button in your profile, one of the many ways to access the game stream of someone broadcasting their gameplay.

Your profile will display your Arena tournament history and upcoming tournaments.

In your Activity Feed, we’re adding the ability to hide individual posts, pin posts to the top of your feed, and filter posts by friends, games or Clubs.

Clubs and Looking for Group (LFG):
When you create an LFG post, as the owner you will be able to see new vetting cards that include hero stats from gamers interested in joining your party. Hero stats are contextual to the game you’re playing, showing you relevant stats like kill/death ratio, rank, or score.

Achievement hunters, this one is for you! You will be able to search LFG posts from the Achievements tab, related to the Achievement you’re trying to finish.

We’re adding the number of open LFG posts to the Game Hub and Club Hub headers.

Have you made a successful LFG post that you want to create again? Now you can see previous LFG posts that you have created, participated or shown interest in, and can copy them to create new posts.

When creating an LFG post, see all the recent tags you’ve used and easily select them.

Club owners can upload custom images for their Club logo and Club background. Just like custom gamerpics, we expect this to be in preview longer than other features to ensure it’s great for everyone when released.

Club owners and admins will be identified and labeled in their text posts to better help them stand out and manage their community.

Club owners and admins can pin a post at the top of their Club feed.

My Games and Apps, and Settings:

In ‘My Games and Apps,’ we’re adding the ability to filter your game library by platform – Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Captive Portal support for wireless internet is coming to Xbox One, which allows for Wi-Fi authentication through a browser. Great for colleges, hotels, or public Wi-Fi locations.

In the Settings, we’re adding the ability to select Kinect auto-zoom for Beam and Twitch broadcasts, as well as for the Skype app.

On the Xbox app for Windows 10, we’re adding the option to select the audio input and output sources for Party chat.

Some real good features coming up!

This update they're doing is going to be huge when it officially launches.

The LFG option would be great since Microsoft still hasn't put matchmaking on H5F, even though that port is so empty when it comes to the playerbase.

Nothing major, but some good improvements.

Custom gamerpics are cool.. And I'm interested in XBL Arena. Hopefully Microsoft can gather the interest of developers and we'll see this grow.

Question - uh, how do I watch Beam broadcasts? In the guide, I only have the option to Broadcast a game and when I search the app store for Beam I get no results? Is it just not available in Canada? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

just need the option to filter disc installed games and digital installs

Not sure you can tell the difference, unless it can look on what games you have digital licenses for and what ones you don't. Otherwise, the installed game is exactly the same.

Beam should be in your ready to install list.

I welcome more updates as long as it does not slow the system down. Last update was great. More of that.

Captive Portal support is awesome. Not being able to connect to online on my 360 because of a crappy hotel authentication portal was a sad moment during a two week long work trip back in the day haha.

Also like the 360 and XB1 game sort

Oh hell yeah, this is gonna be perfect for True Achievements.

Bet you Arenas public launch will line up with the Phantom Dust rerelease.

I swear Microsoft has everything around gaming, perfect. I just want more new good IP. Nintendo games + Microsoft services + Sony 3rd party support (obviously, wouldn't happen) would be a dream come true for me.

Any news about USB headset support?
I still haven't received the supposed March update yet that everyone was getting in Feb, and I'm an Insider. Wtf?
There are multiple insider rings, check your ring in the preview dashboard app.

MS are great when taking and acting on feedback for their UI. Wish they would do the same for AAA games..

I wonder what kind of enhancements Scorpio will get from the UI.

Really only care about the performance boost improvements to the UI.

The UI has progressively gotten less and less performant, it seems.

*EDIT*

SORRY THIS IS MISLEADING:

I meant, without the latest updates (Creators Update, and new insider updates) the UI has only gotten worse over the last 3 years. I don't have the update yet, commenting on the state of the vanilla UI of Xbox One w/o these updates.

The Creators Update really improves perfomance. The new guide is fast and has about everything you need.

Only select ring 3 users..I'm in ring 3 and haven't received an update in months :(

Yeah this turned me off to the whole "new" Insider program.

"New update going out to ring 3..."

Sweet that's me!.

"...but only to a select few of you, which criteria we are not disclosing. You special ones know who you are."

This ringed, sub-grouped system is so convoluted I may as well just opt out. I'd rather not be hit with a system update by surprise because I didn't do the research to find out exactly when my ring, subgroup, subdivision, and secondary subgroup was going to receive the update.

around the time they added customer gamerpic to the settings they also added a flag for new avatar editor. I wonder if that is something coming, or just tied to the gamerpics

Yeah. Ring 3 is kinda useless. If you want guaranteed updates you gotta at least be in the Beta ring.

isnt allowing custom gamerpics asking for trouble ?

Yes, some people will try. Just note, Microsoft has a photo-checking AI service that can look for child porn, so I'm sure they have it for real porn as well. I think the majority of people will be fine...just as we are on other social media.

Are you an insider with the new UI?

The Creators Update really improves perfomance. The new guide is fast and has about everything you need.

Oops sorry my post was misleading... Meant outside of the Creators Update and new Insider updates the UI has gotten progressively more sluggish. Edited my post just to make that clear, I don't have the new updates yet but commenting on the state of the UI w/o those updates.

even with the creators update, if you actually venture back to the old home page, or its apps like the store, everything slows to a crawl

I thought this update was coming to everyone soon, but I guess not. I remember them showing these updates months ago.
