NPD is out next Thursday, anyone wanna predict?

I would bang a hot farmer!
Wedbush Morgan Securities is predicting January U.S. retail sales to be up 1 percent from a year before.

WMS is forecasting sales of $380 million for the month compared to $376 million a year prior, and expects NPD Funworld data to be released this Friday, February 10. The total amount predicted for January includes $110 million in Xbox 360, PSP and DS software sales.

Although sales may be up slightly, WMS is hanging onto its earlier prediction that game sales will still be weak for the first half of the year. Again, much of the burden is on the shoulders of Microsoft, as the firm stated it expects software sales to spike "should Microsoft accelerate delivery of 360 units." The PSP and DS are also expected to counteract a rapidly declining current generation software market as the year goes on.

Titles driving January sales are expected to be Activision's Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, THQ's WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006, EA's Need for Speed Most Wanted, Madden 06 and MVP 06 NCAA Baseball, and LucasArts' Battlefront II.

Don't know if you were joking, but Sonycowboy made this thread LAST week, so next Thursday would translate to "today" for us in the current time zone.

I wasn't. From what I can tell (my local time vs. GAF), he posted it last friday. So if I were to reference today, I would just say thursday. Next thursday to me means...thursday after the next one.

(yeah..on closer inspection he posted it on the 4th and its the 10th here, so he posted it last thursday)

Ah, the old "this Thursday vs next Thursday" arguement. I think that depends on where you're from, or something. Someday that's going to cause a war, like which end of an egg you're supposed to break did in Gulliver's Travels. :D

Nintendogs bundle is 1.5 million, Mario Kart DS is 1 million.

And Mono, according to the December NPD topic, there was only less than 200,000 difference between software sales. When bundle sales are added, DS is ahead in software.

In Microsoft's fiscal report (through Dec. 31) they had 1.5m, with 900k in US, 100k in Japan and 500k in Europe.
