More olden school turn based role playing with the just released Avadon: The Black Fortress (OT).

Couple of more (and my last) Medal of Honor screens. I think I forced AA and everything, but I'm not sure sure. I think it worked or maybe the game just looks better in later levels. I actually did enjoy parts of the SP btw.

It makes me seriously depressed that EA/Danger Close blocked any way to increase the FOV for singleplayer and then proceeded to ignore the issue. Devs are getting really shitty about this of late.

I play in 1280x1024 to keep my framerate up in this game.
Otherwise the screenshots would be 1600x1200.

edit: seems abload converted them to PNG from BMP and in doing that the contrast got butchered....

I'm not far into it but from what I've seen so far it plays pretty snappy and has a good frame rate. Will need to play a bit more to know how buggy it is.

Highest in-game settings, I don't recall if there was an AA setting at all. It's not been very good so far. There are some nice yet oh so limited environments and models but overall production values seem low, especially cut scene animations, sounds and the various secondary character models. It's like Bethesda's earlier efforts in that way, too artificial and somewhat dodgy. Combat itself which is pretty much all the gameplay there is so far, outside light exploration (well, it barely qualifies) to find hidden chests and such, seems rather basic despite being able to purchase various combo moves and what not with the xp you earn. The animations don't flow very smoothly which makes it seem worse too. An example of that is there isn't even full 360 degree control for your character, he just very suddenly snaps into one of 8 (possibly more, I didn't count) directions as you tilt the stick. I mean, even games with digital control knew to smooth out the movement between the 8 directions. This doesn't. Also, it wants access to your facebook for friend lists and for some reason you make an account for the game launcher first, then can't login in game with that, you have to make a different type of game account too, lol. So yeah, if you do try the game, know you can probably avoid that first account creation and only make one in game. Anyway, Guts' Rage on the Dreamcast was more fun. Suffice to say, this won't be keeping me away from Avadon: The Black Fortress.

So I just got a brand new iMac 27" (LED screen) with the following specs:

• PROCESSOR 065-0250 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
• MEMORY 065-0251 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
• HARD DRIVE 065-0256 2TB Serial ATA Drive
• GRAPHICS 065-0312 AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5

I successfully installed Win7 64-bit via bootcamp and spent the next few days downloading about 150GB of games (via Steam). Giddy as a schoolboy I fired up Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Bioshock 2, Farcry 2, HL2 and a bunch of others just to watch them run at maximum details (some ran at the proper resolution of 2560x1440 too).

If I post some screenshots I'm wondering if I should downscale the screenshots so they don't wreak the thread. I'd rather not but I've not yet contributed to this thread and don't want to upset everyone.

:)

Judging by the Medal of Honor pics that were posted recently, I'd say your safe.

Damn those things were huge

Don't downsize! This is the high res thread and if anybody cares about scrolling across they're in the wrong place :)

Yup, Risen is great. Shitty ending though. Can't wait for 2, it doesn't look (yet at least, we've not seen much) as big an improvement over the first as say, Witcher 2 over Witcher 1 seems to be, but it should be pretty sweet anyway.
