This reminds me, wasn't creamsugar saying something about a bigger 3DS?
The scratching issue has not been fixed. I know of a Zelda, Flame Red, and even a purple 3DS that still has the issue. It's pretty hilarious that Nintendo gets such a pass on what's obviously a hardware defect.
Have there been any cases where the screen scratching has actually caused lasting damage? It is always there when I open my 3ds, but it just wipes away.
Generally it starts out that way, smudges that are easily wiped off, but then they start to become permanent marks. So my advice to you is to get some thicker rubber sticky-thingamabobs to increase the distance between the screens to avoid the problem alltogether.
Also, clearly the time to get a 3DS is when Castlevania and or Majora's Mask 3D comes out. I'll eat a can of ravioli if it doesn't!

If you also want to play DS game, get 3DS now.
If you don't care about DS game, wait.
You mean time to import a Japanese 3DS, right?Soul Hackers, SMTIV, Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey IV, 999-2, Code of Princess.
You bet It's Time.
