Fun song, but there's nothing to it really. Soulless. As I suspect the remainder of this album will be.
Diamonds: 6/10
I can get behind this song somewhat despite Rihanna clearly having no interest in singing it. Girl just waiting on her paycheck.

Would be a 10/10 if it was Em the whole time over a Rih sample. Dark! Of course he would need an entirely new verse though.
Power It Up: 6/10
I kinda like the dark hazy direction of the album but I hope it picks up cuz I'm getting bored.

Good thing I've heard Jump is a jam or I'd be giving up by this point. Rihanna is hilariously disinterested in this.

Well this is maybe the most boring "energy" track I've ever heard in my life. Ffs.

Songs has a bit more grip than Jump. Still not great at all. The bass is fun but we've all heard it a thousand other times by now.

Agree with all of this except for the Numb. For me Numb is a great track that just gets completely ruined by Eminem.

You have this sexy, hypnotic track that makes you wanna call up an old flame, roll a blunt, sip on some ice-cold Alizé, and have sex on the livingroom couch while it plays, and then out of nowhere here comes Eminem with his little boy lyrics and obnoxious sound effects and just kills the whole sexy vibe. :(

The song is an 8 for me until we get to Em's verse, then it becomes a 2.

I don't think she really had much of a plan with organizing the promo which is why the album didn't spawn a single smash

Agreed, it was her own fault. And as you can see Gaga didn't steal any thunder from her.
Especially since Bey got more promo during the VMAs than Gaga.

Ch...wouldn't be the first time HDD got it wrong with Alicia. They predicted The Element of Freedom would only move 300-350k first week. It's moved 400+.

Alicia has consistently been an albums artist. At this point it's a safe bet to assume she'll sell more than what is predicted by her singles performance. That's how it has been for a while with her.

@Royalan I think the issue is that her songs from Fearless and Speak Now treaded the line perfeclty between good country and accessible pop, whereas everything on RED is full-on pop, and pop only. At least she fell under the country genre before. Now she's just a tame, slightly more damaged Avril Lavigne.
