I couldn't agree with you more. Tearaway looks like it will be one of Vita's best exclusives. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Vita always had games, people just weren't paying attention.
Because if the Vita doesn't start to move hardware, it's future is pretty bleak
Why do you make the artificial retail distinction? A good game is a good game.
Indies are nice, but AAA exclusives are better. It's a pity that Sony isn't investing more resources into content creation for Vita.
So I've had a Vita since launch, but why should I get excited about ports of games I've already played on PC or elsewhere? It's great that indies are embracing the platform, but I couldn't care less about Limbo years later. I want new games (and I've enjoyed the new ones that have come thus far!). Old ports don't seem to do much to reinvigorate a platform, but they are helping it carve out a niche.
Wait, does remote play also cover indies?! I could play Transistor via remote play?

Oh god. You didn't. (There's no apostrophe)
Ys is definitely my most anticipated Vita game, but there's not much competition. Not really much else I wouldn't rather get another platform though unfortunately.
That's your loss, then, and I'm sorry to hear that. There are certainly games that benefit from being made portable (too) but a PC version is almost always a definitive version. My preference is to always play the best version of a game whenever I can. Of course, more power to people experiencing these games for the first time, but I find it hard to believe most Vita owners don't have a secondary place to play a lot of these games (and haven't already years earlier).I don't play games on my PC. All these games are new to me.
I understand why some people don't get it but I'm thrilled to be playing hotline miami on my vita and ps3
i only played one vita game this e3, but it might have been my favorite game of the show.
a lot of times developers try to make something charming or cute, and it comes off as forced (see disney infinity). tearaway is genuine. there's a lot of effort in the game's design to make you really feel part of the world in more ways than one.
you, the player, are the god of the world in tearaway, and the main character's quest is to deliver the god the letter. it's a 3d platformer, and at first you can only make the character jump by tapping the back of the vita. it's a simple thing used to great effect, even when it's just teaching you how to play the game- which it does through actual level design and not forced tutorials. this is also before the game allows you to make the character jump using the buttons, so it familiarizes the player with the idea of manhandling the vita early on.
i think one of the really nice touches was at one point, the character looks up to see the sun, and in the middle, the vita uses the front camera to show your face. i don't know why. maybe it was just an honest, nice little touch, but i that it brought the story together at the start so easily. aw, the messenger wants to deliver you a letter! so you will help him on his quest. i really want to see what's inside.
there are other elements at play here too. the game asks whether you're male or female, what your eye and hair color is, what matches your skin tone best, and if you're a kid or not. so when the fingers break through the screen, they represent your own as much as possible.
platformers are my favorite genre. it's hard to surprise me anymore when it comes to new games in the genre. however, whenever something does, it usually becomes one of my favorites. i wasn't considering a vita for this game alone- there were others that i was interested in, but tearaway might push me over the edge. it looks really special.
Indeed, you should. The wealth of original content you desire is not going to happen for the foreseeable future. There will be a lot of ports though. If that bothers you, bail out and save yourself a headache. After such a bad E3, I think it's time to sell my Portstation Vita.
my tearaway impressions might be better here than the vita doomed thread (it was the only somewhat relevant thing i could find at the time
thinking more on it, it was my favorite game of the show. sonic: lost world is great, but this hits all the right notes with me.
Cannot wait to play most of these games.
I thought that indies were the ones bringing salvation to the gaming industry with innovation and good ideas. Why these shouldn't be highlights for the vita?

The hardware is worth the cost. It's gorgeous.

I believe the PS3 and Vita will both get one when we get closer to Christmas.

Nobody cares about the show floor, Sony should have communicated their confidence in the Vita through the press conference. Because of the big PS4 unveil, I can understand that the Vita wasn't very prominent but even the PS3 was shown more.
If this keeps up at Gamescom and TGS they surely have given up on the device.

This corporate espionage thing is getting out of hand.
The bad news is that none of those titles look like system sellers

the "awesome" Shahid vindicated, lol

shame i probably already own most of these games from humble bundles.
