This is pretty neat, although it could use some sound. The game asks you where certain world capitals, cities and landmarks are, and you have to click their location on the map. Closer you are, more points you get.

Level 10 is a bitch. It's Africa and those little islands NE of Australia I suck at. I'm gonna browse a map of Africa and give it another shot. Which is guess is cheating, but whatever, I want to see if I can finish level 12.

Russia isn't that hard. There aren't that many landmarks throughout most of it, so guessing very much near the West will get you some points in most cases :P. Unless they're looking for something near Vladivostok or something, then you're screwed :P.
 
I made it to level 10, those little African countries are killer so were the landmarks in Russia its so bloody big.

Oh and I was like 12km from Trinity College in Ireland the map is too small though.

Can't get past Level 6, there are a few little countries I have no clue about at all. Was 20km off Christchurch in New Zealand.

Need 55,000 to get to level 12 and I only got 42,051. Pretty cool game, I just hate how small the map is sometimes...
 
Seems to be a lot of questions in the database so you could keep taking it over to see how you do. A couple tough ones could fuck up an entire round. East Timor? Yeah, um... on Mars?

I got some of the same questions but mostly different ones when I took it again. Managed to get past level 11 this time, but just barely. Good thing I knew where Murmansk was this time, but I still totally missed the other city it gave me in Russia.... >.>

kind of lame though. I mean the map is so small that they'll name somewhere obscure in eastern europe or somewhere in the middle east and if you just click there you'll do alright. That doesn't apply for places like brazil/australia though, so it doesn't really mean you know where it is.

Map should be bigger.

EDIT: just tried the africa only game, and couldn't get past level 3 :lol

The Russia thing early on is actually wrong. They placed Moscow over by St Petersburg when it's nowhere NEAR St Petersburg-- it's on the other side of the continent.

Pretty easy since the map was so small again - all of the countries but the biggest ones you can get points for the cities just by seeing the country they're in. I actually almost got past the monuments one on level 9 just with educated guesses, but I needed 4,000 more points.

USA Challenge - 89,423 | Level 7 | IQ 116

Did fine up until the "Famous Places" section. I have never heard of 2/3rds of the places they named (I do live here). "Red Stick"? "Garden of the Gods"? "Creation Museum"? OK, whatever. Did bad on the bonus city nicknames too...

North America - 62,154 | Level 5 | IQ 108

Canadian and Mexican monuments continue to defeat me...

Asia - 708,715 | Level 12 | IQ 116

I don't understand why they give you the country for these capitals, cities, and monuments, but they don't give them to you for the ones in the Americas. It makes it much harder if you don't know the country to guess where to click unless you actually know the monument or whatever. The last level here is UNESCO heritage sites, though, without the country name, and I barely knew any of those. It's more fun if you have to guess based on the name instead of them giving you the country. ^^
 
Man, I make fun of Americans for not knowing anything about the world but this test shows me how ignorant I am myself. I feel so fucking stupid.

That's the thing, I know where East Timor is and I knew a lot of the ones around Australia. But put me anywhere in Europe or Africa and I wouldn't have a clue. Italy was piss easy, though, just look for the boot.
