BOW DOWN BEFORE THE ONE YOU SERVE

Yay! Ezra Dreisbach at the helm, I assume? Man, I spent so much time (and money getting an extra mutlitap and controllers) for sweet six-player mayhem. Death Tank Zwei!! Groovy!

Holy FUCKING SHIT!

No exagerration, really, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

I always hoped, somehow, that this gem of a game would not be forgotten! But after ten years, I'd resigned myself to the fact that Death Tank will be lost to time.

If this is even a tenth as good as the Saturn Version, then Microsoft may have just sold me an X-Box. For fucks sake, get this game on Wii and PSN. Its the ultimate local multiplayer game. Even ten-player Bomberman pales in comparison to this shining star.

If you have played it before, you know why we're excited. If you haven't, then I envy you in a way. You'll never forget swearing your way through your first seven-player 50-round death-tank-a-thon....

Same / Difff GuyBrush. I doubt it's the very original, probably a brand new one.

HEY KIDS IT'S TIME FOR A BLITZ ROUND BITCHES

The youtube video makes it look like a ghetto version of tank wars. :lol
sadly that video blows. 7 player DTZ on Saturn was freaking awesome!

For people comparing to Scorched Earth, it is very similar. But the major difference is DTZ was totally realtime. No turns.

I remember playing a game on the schools BBC computers back in about 1984 that looks the same as this. I thought it was crap. Isn't this Worms without the worms and different weapons?

Closer to real-time Worms/Scorched Earth. Yeah, there have been competitive trajectory-based shooting games on computers forever (Dueling Castles, Trajerwrecktory, etc.) but there are no turns here with a 'last man standing' style of play and you earn credits depending on your kills (especially multis and the awesome groovy kill) and pick ups from drops/downed planes. You then buy new weapons (nukes, MIRVs, rolling mines that are subject to simple physics and terrain curvature) and special items (hover, shield, carbomite that explodes from you once you've died and can take out others and you get credit for these kills, too). You play for a set number of rounds and there are blitz rounds where things go crazy offensive. You can also alter the landscape with shots...with nukes taking out entire mountains. And the cursed/blessed item that mixes it up, too.

This is Megaton of the Year. They should have announced this at E3 and it would have trumped all for anybody who has a goddamn clue.

I am serious.

Never played this at all. I need to be educated.

Rlan I guess this is the unannouced title you were really really exited about, I'll read your "things that should be on XBLA" post about it in the morning.

Man, I can remember all of the shit I wanted to see in a sequel from so long ago. I want simulated fluids (representing lakes) with tanks being slow to move in them or perhaps able to put pontoons or something similar for added buoyancy and movement. Be able to attribute force of volumes rushing out of a newly opened edge of a lake to push tanks and mines around would be interesting as hell. Variable gravity, shifting wind direction and power, neutral AI units on the map, mounted drills on tanks to drill through mountains without actually collapsing them, etc. So much they could do...
