Well as I'm sure Major Nelson will divulge, the speed at which the transactions occurred for the Xbox One were faster, thereby they techinically did sell faster.

The average time taken for walking in store to purchase was:

4 mins for Xbox One.
5 mins for PS4.

Decisive victory. Those shopkeepers really gave those 5k consoles over quickly.

The question itself doesn't make a lot of sense in these cases: that number of units sold is just the number of units that was on stock.

UK the biggest market in Europe had 250k units at launch, Spain in terms of marketshare size ranks behind Germany and France.
