This thread is just a friendly reminder to people who don't check the official Left 4 Dead thread.

The 360 (Xbox Live) and PC (Steam) demos are out.
 
This thread will get locked pretty quick I'm sure. That being said I tried the demo at lunch and was disapointed I could not invert-aim for the controls.

Also, I was not really impressed with the title graphically at all.

I wll probably be skipping it. Hope the rest of you have fun with it.
 
Awesome. I played 10 hours of the demo. It was really, really good.
Maybe I'll play more with some of my friends who didn't yet purchase the game.

Huh? My aim's inverted on 360. I recall seeing the option to change it for the weirdos..

You make me feel less bad about not being able to play on LIVE....
(I refuse to make a new profile just to play online)

It was a major blow to me that I couldn't get this game and that it isn't on Ps3....

I can't play FPS w/o invert controls I'm sure the retail will have the option though....

We have similar taste in games so I'll take your word that the demo sucks K.P.

Seems people have been busy already hacking the PC demo :lol

They enabled the zombie mode, splitscreen, and even made the game play on some Countr-Strike Source maps :lol

Is the lame trolling in this thread the SDF pissed off because its not coming to PS3:lol

Must be because I am pissed that this isn't for PS3 I love my 360 & it's games but hate M$....

Not in the mood for such a fast-paced shooter atm but will try to check it out until the end of the year so I can factor it into my GOTY list.
 
Thanks for the heads up. It would be pretty sad if this useful thread was locked on the basis of a few trolls. Looking forward to the game.

To set it to launch in the resolution you want, right click on it and go to properties. Then select 'set launch options'.

type this in the box that appears:
Code: 
-w 800 -h 600

(or substitute whatever width and height you want for 800 and 600)
 
It's not downloading the full 3gb is it?(Is some of it the source engine stuff?)
That's going to take a while with 1mb

Advanced is a pretty good challenge with randoms, IMO. I only have 3 hours or so logged into the demo so maybe that's why.

I think so. In my case I had no other source engine games installed, and it also was a good 3gig. So maybe that's why.

Or maybe that's the whole game for the PC version, and they're counting on you buying it for a small download later?

Edit: Yes, Advanced is fine too. Expert (for me) is a bit on the masochistic side (though in a rewarding way), while Advanced is good for a less frustrating run.

Normal, on the other hand, is for people to get used to the controls and nothing more.

This game is much better than I expected.
Not like my expectations weren't sky high ;)
 
omg, this game is all sorts of awesome...I love it....this is the evolution of crack. (online that is)

holy shit....in some game, some big ass tentacle thing came out of nowhere and grabbed me...wtf

Maybe.I was just hoping some of it would be copied from the other source engine games I have installed

It doesn't help when steam is only downloading at 45kb/s

are you on drugs? if you like invert controls, you should have those set in the dashboard, not to mention they're available in the options menu. I've never had to reset invert, ever, on xbox 360.
