Female characters is a normal instance of it's usage in regular every day life. Women characters sounds odd haha

If you're using females when saying something like this: "These females be like..." or "Females always do this...", it's demeaning the female gender altogether. It's like saying our gender is responsible for our behavior or who we are.

Not even trying to upset OP but it's very nice when we aren't treated like strange aliens because we are a different gender.

The closest to this I've seen would be my ex-girlfriend's friend who I caught watching porn while we visited her other friend. She had her back facing the entrance door of the apartment as we came into the room, and was just sitting there watching it on the computer while the other friend was in the living room.
