Over drinks and a fat stogie at a night club on Sunset Blvd.,Castlevania producer
Koji Igarashi told XBN that, after work is completed on his current project(Nanobreakers on PS2)he plans to bring Castlevania series to "Xenon"-the internal name for XBOX 2 within the game development sector.

I think it's about time for devs to get crackin on next gen games.

I wonder what team kojima will do after mgs3 (I hope it's not AC!D)

EDIT: wario the newest one I suppose.

but how big is Team Kojima really?

from the interview it sounded like a couple guys working on it.

I hope they start development on the ps3...or if they wanted
to make another installment Zone of The enders series it's fine by me.

Wait, is XBN monthly now? I remember it was bi-monthly but I didn't pay attention if they changed it

Any new Castlevania is good Castlevania. I'm excited to try Nanobreaker, too, despite negative impressions out of E3.

what's nanobreaker again?

anyone care to post some screens?

Nanobreaker is the action/adventure game from IGA. Screens aren't hard to find, I'll at least dig a link up for you.

It's not the whole team, but a MGS team is comprised of around 40 people. He says he doesn't like really big teams since you can't keep an eye on what everyone is doing.

I hope they spend more time on the level design in the next installment. Laments' was just way to repetitive which sucked the fun out of it IMO .

well, it looks like SSX finally made the switch. What do you think about a new Castlevania game on the next'box?

Makes no difference to me really, i'll still pick it up. Iga's yet to make a game I didn't like.

They should do a DS game if for nothing else to cash in on launch hype with the Castlevania name (like when Circle of the Moon sold a ton with the GBA launch)...

Is the XBN the one with the DoA girl on the cover? It just came in on friday, haven't had a chance to read it. So, it's the best Xbox mag out there, right? About the xbox2: I'm glad, but I hope he makes it high-res 2d. And for the story to be the Castlevania that takes place in 1999 that's mentioned in Aria.

And they need to drop the Metroid-like exploration. I don't know about you guys but I want a true Castlevania game that doesn't rely on exploring a castle and gaining powerups. I'm sure there's people who think that Castlevania always had a Metroid-like exploration model

I just wish that a Castlevania game would go ahead and work in the areas AROUND Castlevania instead of inside Castlevania itself. I started up SOTN, and I knew everything from Aria of Sorrow. Almost perfectly, in fact.

With Lament of Innocence, though, the series did take a nice step in a new direction. Instead of the overly familiar old dregs, the castle itself was quite a bit different looking. Castlevania is living and breathing, an extension of Dracula, so why doesn't it change more?

Maybe this'll be the online multiplayer based Castlevania Iga's been wanting to do? Something along the lines of PSO with LOI's battle system and CV64-ish environmental design would be amazing...

That'd be interesting, to say the least.

...although I dunno how four people whipping Dracula to death would be that appealing. ;)

Also, Jarrod, if you're still watchin' this thread: here's your old av.

your skepticism is warranted...

my xbn told me it would enhance my "situation" in the bedroom..

it has done nothing of the sort..

its a good read however.

Well, they could base it around the 1999 incident Sera mentioned, where an army rose to fight Dracula. Maybe more than 4 people even? ;)

"Castlevania" has yet to work in 3D, IMO. It may look and sound like Castlevania, but the gameplay itself has not delivered.

I guess that's what happens when you're browsing the results of a search you don't recall having queried. Amirite, Neptune?
