One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 shipped million copies

I see, good for them then.

I hope KT someday will make a parity about the support for PC platform to others in the future.

"But... but anime games sell well in europe if they come subtitled in French, Spanish, German and Italian?" Asked Nisa and Atlus.

It surprises how many people around me have only watched 1 or 2 episodes of One Piece, yet they bought this game just to try it as they wanted to play something anime. The game is not even that good FFS.
Doesn't surprise me this numbers, knowing that now.
I also know lots of people that are super happy that Danganronpa is going to be released on steam because the probabilty of someone modding a spanish translation into the game is high.

Before anyone jumps to my comment. Yes, I know that Atlus is going to translate PAL5 Odin Sphere. Super good news. I only hope from now onwards this is the rule isntead of the exception for them.

Good showing, the game is a lot of fun.

No longer being PS3 exclusive probably did wonders for this iteration I imagine. In non-Japan territories at least.

Slightly off-topic but is there any reason to play the first 2? I lost interest in the first entry because of the traversal stuff, and I'm reading this entry contains every arc from the series. If the gameplay is largely the same and I'd just be redoing the same arcs I'd rather just play the latest.

No reason to go back to the first two games. Just go right into three, even though the 2nd game is pretty amazing.

So, PC sales represents like 11% of Western sales. I guess that's why Burning Blood is coming, must have done well enough for Bamco.

North America sales are pretty bad. One Piece as a franchise will never click with Americans for some reason.

Perfect proof why it doesn't make sense to implement the US dub for the franchise. The game only scores in areas where that dub is simply not aired like I said in that topic.

Here’s the regional sales breakdown:

Japan (launched 03/26/15) – 380,000 units
Asia (launched 05/23/15) – 200,000 units
North America (launched 08/25/15) – 100,000 units
Europe (launched 08/28/15) – 320,000 units

Why do we use NPD as a barometer for success of Japanese games again?

It never got over the damage from 4kids

Even my brother, who has since been fully on board with the series as a watcher and now a reader, said he had a tough time getting into it because of the 4Kids dub stinking up the place, and he was always in the target audience for the franchise. Now, he's scraping to figure out how to pay for the new game in a couple of months.

It's crazy that they did so much damage to the brand.

Jesus America get it together! You care more about crap like Naruto?! Where is the One Piece love?!

well naruto is the best looking anime game out there, while One Piece is a musou Game.
Huge One Piece Fan, but i didn't touch the warriors game after the first one, while i have all naruto games

own fault if they don't use the full potential of One Piece

You can't really put One Piece in the same basket than niche's game like Odin Sphere or others Nisa/Atlus's title.
One Piece is likely the most popular Anime/manga in the west, or soon to be when Naruto will end. For niche's game like Odin Sphere I doubt a PAL5 localization have any significant impact on sales. Maybe a game like Persona would sell better but it's not niche anymore.

Pretty much one piece games get minimal effort if you compare them to naruto even burning blood is a jstars rip off(collectors edition on pre order lol)

Is this a good Musou game? I heard the first Pirate Warriors was bad as hell. And somewhere else that this one is great. What does GAF say? I liked Hyrule Warriors, the game is good, but I don't consider it a Wii U must have. Is PW3 better than HW? Should I get it?

Pirate Warriors series is one of the best licensed Musou titles. The third installment improved on a lot of the combat scenarios and features of the first two games. If you enjoyed Hyrule Warriors or Dynasty Warriors Gundam, then you'll most likely have a great time with PW3.

It's kind of funny though that we're getting Burning Blood first before Europe.
I'd say it's the second-biggest market for the One Piece franchise.

Pretty good. North America sales make me sad though...

France's first exposure to the series didn't probably feature Sanji smoking a lolipop or Nami's mother being thrown in a prison forever. :p

Don't forget Sanji sounding like the demented offspring of Tony Danza & Dr. Girlfriend
Or Usopp going through constant puberty
Or Chopper suddenly getting a man's voice when he didn't assume a cute form
Or Southern Nico Robin
Or French Mihawk
Or cutting out important story arcs to rush getting to Chopper because CUTE = MONEY
Or bizarre edits like the hammer-gun or the rubber knife
Or "Zolo" because we're scared of getting sued
Or "Trace" instead of Ace because... reasons.

Man, can you imagine if they continued past Alabasta? There's evidence of how they would have handled Skypiea, calling Eneru "King" instead of God. But after that... fuck it would have been nigh-unwatchable with all the edits.

I picked this up after not having played a Dynasty Warriors game since the PS2... man... they really could work on some serious updates to things like level design, the map system, camera etc. I was expecting it to feel more modern but it really did feel like nothing had changed in 15 years!

Still, there's fun to be had.

It is in reality the same release date. It is just that for Europe the date used to list releases is Friday and for the USA it is Tuesday.

Three days can make a difference. Although, I'm sure a good portion of European and North American fans will also import the JPN release before the localization.

But in reality, the games arrive in shops here on Monday to Tuesday. The dates are just a relic of old way of working.

I read that as 3 million at first, I was all like
