This game is really interesting, as outside of character designs, it has no clear link to Sonic. It not like NiGHTS which was 2D Sonic in the Sky, Burning Rangers which was a sudo-prototype to Sonic Adventure or Billy Hatcher which is a 3D action platformer.
This is a rhythm game and it used these to control the action:
I played the Wii version which used the Wiimotes or the Wiimote & Nunchuck (which oddly enough was developed by Gearbox, famous for the Borderlands games), so they work similarly.
Now that the context is out of the way, lets get dancing!

The game's core gameplay is you shaking the controller in one of three angles; up, middle, down. You shake the controller when the note hits one of the six circles on the sides of the screen to get points. The higher your combo, the more points you get
It feels really rewarding to get such a highs score and the fact you are shaking them controllers makes everything feel more interactive them pressing buttons or touching a screen.
In some ways, its like Dance Dance Revolution for your hands, instead of your feet. You use your hands to hit the notes vs stepping on a pad to input the notes. Its a precursor to games like Just Dance or Dance Central, so Sonic Team was ahead of the curve
You can play against a friend in local MP and the game functions the same as it does in single player.
Like other Sonic Team games, you get ranked after you clear a stage with an Letter Grade and the more you play, the better you get! It makes replay value very high, as the grading system works very well with music games, pushing repeated runs in a more natural way for me

A music game is nothing without its soundtrack and Sambo De Amigo is no exception
Long list of songs to play with the Wii version having the most songs out of all versions of the game, mixing tracks from the original Dreamcast release & the 2000 version alongside new tracks exclusive to the Wii version.
Instead of posting most of the music, will just post select tracks......there is ALOT of music to go through XD!

Music is varied with it having a strong personality
The Wii version is cool as some other Sega Stars jam alongside Samba

Presentation is very strong with vivid colors, lots of animation and the designs being very strong. SEGA and Sonic Team excel at this, so its great to see Sonic Team do a great job with this.

This thread is shorter as I can't really talk about a music game that much but I had fun replaying some of game
It is a really fun game that while has some control issues in the Wii version, its overall a very strong music game.
Now, one must ask "Dude.....how does this relate to Sonic at all? This game is so different form Sonic man....."
Glad you asked, as the next game starts Amigo and our flying jester NiGHTS
Hope you all look forward to that after I cover Advance 3
