I also think it will be one of the biggest as far as announcements go. I hope GTA5 is going to be shown..that is my most wanted moment.
 
I agree. I was stoked for the NGP but Wii2 is even more exciting.

I expect lots more (non official!) E3 threads before the event. I also expect snippets of news before the event... Starhawk I'm waiting for you...
 
I guess that the console version of The King Of Fighters XIII will be announced at E3.
 
Wait until they reveal that the NGP and Cafe are the same thing, and it's powered by Steam.

EDIT: Episode 3 is not going to be at E3 you fool.

well we can't really predict new ips can we? and there's not much of those already known to look forward to right now either.

oh an your big game annoncement list is probably only gonna end in disappointment , ok well not really after a good look at it but at least 3-4 of those will end in a no show.

Yep, for Sony especially, Sony's E3 usually starts about a month before the event, I remember last year they announced most of their shit before E3, then everyone got mad that there was no surprises.
 
That was said about last year and that turned out to be really disappointing. Hopefully the conferences are actually interesting to watch this year.

Believe so. That said, they did announce Chinatown Wars through Nintendo's conference, so it's possible that if GTAV is going to be... I don't know... available on a new platform, something similar might happen again. Just depends.

I'm not suggesting this will happen. Hell, I got into E3s now with virtually no expectations, but... just throwing it out there...

Well this list is only shit that are rumored of things that we know of there will be plenty of surprises, and of course with the 3DS, WiiHD and NGP we should get big game announcements for new hardware, such as maybe a new Mario game for WiiHD.

from history a logo/teaser around may/june and then a blow out by game informer/some other magazine in july/august is more likely than them showing it at e3.
 
Microsoft will definitely want something massive in there to get lots of positive word of mouth for the 360. Sony have the NGP and always bring a fuck ton of announcements and Nintendo have Project Cafe and the 3DS which will draw a massive buzz.

We had the discussion after Gamescom last year I believe, up until the VGA's that Microsoft will drop their surprises for the second half of the year at E3. Given that we know about:

  • Forza 4
  • Codename: Kingdoms
  • Gears of War III
  • Halo CE:make (long been rumoured)
  • Star Wars: Kinect
  • Some of the Japanese Kinect titles

I really do wonder if they'll pull out much more surprising stuff. Microsoft being Microsoft will have stage demo's of the new COD, Gears and Kinect titles on stage and those will be good for them, but I really do wonder if they'll have anything that could top Sony and Nintendo this year? First party wise, Rare and Lionhead will probably announce something, so I would imagine they'd have some 3rd party surprises too? Alan Wake from a 2nd party point.

Should be a great E3.
 
Rockstar might try a Max Payne 3 push, GTA 5 announcement, with probably 0 AGENT info. Rockstar is pretty uncaring at e3.

MS is probably gonna push Assassins creed, Eden for kinect, gears 3 demo, MGS Rising, and probably reveal a new IP for spring 2012.

Sony is probably gonna push god of war, a new move Game, maybe talk about agent, and random shit like last year.

Makes me wonder how GTA on 3DS would work. I mean if PSP could pull off legit GTA games I'm sure 3DS could do it as well.

edit: And I know it's a port, but dammit I REALLY want to see more on MGS3 Snake Eater on 3DS. Hopefully they've added new modes, scenarios, maybe even new scripting/cutscene voice work...!
 
Aside from new Kinect stuff, I'm really only interested in seeing how Ninty's new platform and its software will show. Seems clear, to me, that they are addressing the current game market in Japan (having seemingly fully moved away from the traditional consoles now) with this thing while clearly trying to stay on top of the console market with a 2012 release. Otherwise, there seems to be very little to be super-hyped about yet that isn't just another sequel or franchise installment.

The Zelda SS hype balloon has long since deflated. Blame that one on Nintendo for the less than awe-inspiring art direction and gameplay coupled with the mediocre dolling out of info.

I REALLY hope they've had the sense to make this also a Cafe Launch Title.
 
Anyone considering going dark during E3 and just be surprised what shows up this holiday in game stores ?

I enjoyed last years mainly for 3DS reveal.

This year should be better because we got 2 hardwares to look forward to (which are WiiHD, NGP), plus we obviously will get more on 3DS, Kinect and Move.
 
I think this year, unless the other guys pull out some crazy surprises, Nintendo is gonna steal the show conference-wise.

I just hope MS's press conference isn't as disappointing as last year's though. However, the amount of funny images and laughter that came out of that conference, as well as Skittles, was pure awesome.

Color me more hopeful this year for MS and Sony. I already know Nintendo is going to do some crazy things because the 3DS is out and Project cafe will be shown.
