Betting the FarmVille: GiantBomb Intern Daily Endurance Run (Kessler/Lemon)

Farmville consumed a good month of my life when I realized that I could use crops to make pixel art.

Looking forward to see what dumb shit the GB crew can do with it.
 
Ryan is the guiding hand for them in this first ep, dunno if he will stay on.

I haven't seen Farmville before but been exposed to via the Mrs to WeFarm on iPad that looks the same.


I'm going to go with Kessler edging the win on this one, he seems like he might do the maths on it more than Lemon.
 
Not a big fan of the interns but as long as there's still a decent amount of the regular crew in these vids then it's all good.
 
You know, the video's not half bad. Seems like Ryan might be there most of the time.

I've never seen any gameplay of Farmville. This is what tons of people play? Interesting.

Same with me, I made a 1up mushroom and then soon after lost interest.

Been wanting another endurance run, hopefully the regular giant bomb crew sits in on some of them, otherwise I'm not too interested.
 
The video was great when it was Ryan, Jeff and Vinny sat at a table talking.

... Then my eyes were forced to look at the mess that is Kessler and flicking through it does seem to be just an intern playing Farmville. Err.

Might've been a cool idea, but it looks boring as hell. This isn't what I meant in the other thread when I said GB needed to start having new features to intice people into subscribing.
 
I've got this playing as just background noise at the moment, which is probably for the best since last time I looked at the video the intern that wasn't Kessler hadn't lined his dirt properly and it annoyed the hell out of me.
 
After watching the first episode of this new series, I didn't find it very entertaining.

I don't really see what could happen in this series that would make it more entertaining as it goes along.

I would have much preferred watching a series with the interns playing an "actual" game, or even an MMO. I'm sure that'd be more interesting.

I don't mind the interns. I don't hate them like many people on NeoGAF do.

I will continue to watch, but hopefully it will get better.

I'm glad, at least, that Giant Bomb has a new series! I've been waiting for something from them for a while.
 
Some people are seriously harsh on Kessler. Saying you aren't a fan is one thing but it's turned into "ugh, that disgusting mess kessler, I want to punch him in the face". Really? Does an intern you rarely see or hear on a video game website upset you that much? I'm sure having like 8,000 posts on a gaming forum means you're so cool and buff that criticizing is easy when you are so far above them.

Anyway, I'll give this a shot but farmville seems kinda boring. I hope we get some good moments.
 
staring at a web page isn't what I think of when I think of exciting video...
 
I predict that about 25% of this thread will be devoted to the actual video content with the other 75% being bitching about Kessler.

I'll give this a shot at lunch.
 
I doubt Farmville can provide much funny moments. Persona 4 and DP were such good choices for an endurance run because there were full of quirky, funny things unlike Farmville.
 
This is an idea that sounds hilarious and great on paper but the actual result is pretty fucking boring. I liked the intro to the video but watching them play the game was rather tedious..
 
I'm curious to see how they could make this... watchable? I mean P4 and Deadly Premonition had insane stories and they were interesting even if you didn't like the games. This is like watching paint dry.

Make them play some random PSP jRPG, one of the really bad ones, I'm sure that would be interesting.
Get them to play Blazing Souls Accelate and see if they can understand the combat system in less than 10 1 hour episodes.
 
Have they never played games before? I can't believe Ryan has to actually tell them to follow the tutorial/directions...poor substitution for endurance runs. Come on GiantBomb, what happened to your original videos!
 
People I don't like playing a game I have no interest in.

At least this yielded the intro section of the video I guess.
 
Yeah they are gona have to press that little musical note symbol next time.

So guys who have played this before?

Can they name there farms? have the messed up in any ways earn on? messed up going for a all coins with there cash?
 
Yeah, I've watched half this video so far. This is the first really bad idea from the Giant Bomb guys, I hope they can somehow spin it into something interesting.
 
20 minutes into the video and I can't take anymore. I like the interns but this is just plain boring.
 
I think you have to look at this as bonus content that is there as a funny thing to make the interns do but also to help them develop and learn the skills the GB guys are so good at.

Also after doing a lot of these, toughening their skin and getting a little more crafted in their trade it may lead to the interns better able to support the content the audience here care about.

So as this is something extra I'm going to watch and luck forward to see what they do, I found this first one pretty entertaining anyway.
 
Thread title should be :The official thread of whiskey media shooting themselves in the foot.

As a subscriber I hope this isn't a sign of things to come because I'll have to not resub.
