Wow, Romney is losing to Gingrich in both Alabama and Mississippi. Gingrich knows he has no chance, but what would he ever gain from dripping out at this point? He's way too toxic to be a VP pick and I doubt he would actually want someone like Santorum to be running the country.

While they might've coalesced around Santorum, that's not what actually happened. Romney got those delegates, and he'll still end up with the nomination when the dust settles. It's not like the GOP voters in the south are going to pick Obama over Romney in the general anyway. They'll grudgingly fall in line in the end.

honestly...I'm surprised southerns would vote for Romney at all, for any reason. He's so transparently phony. The lines in the thread title are some of the most cringe-worthy I've ever heard come from the mouth of a serious politician. It shows how awful Romney's campaign has been in the South. It doesn't even like the states below the Mason-Dixon line are important to him, but we know that's not true 'cause he's spent a lot of money down there. Lub E. McShitty and Newt Gingrich, of all people, seem more genuine is kind of a big problem.

I think most of his supporters should be qualified as crazy. It's not as though he's winning moderates. He appeals to the severe conservatives.
