Alternative title - What the hell are AGS awards?
The Journey Down - Chapter One (Part 1 of 4 of an episodic adventure game series
Unfortunately, there doesnt seem to be an OT, so feel free to use this thread as long as you want to talk about the game. And yes, the title was just to lure you in. AGS is the adventure game studio and annually awards games made with it, so its rather unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Actually, the HD version isnt even an AGS game anymore, but whatever. It lured you in, right? Whatever works

If you dont feel like paying for it, you can play the retro, non beautysized and non-voiced version here (It also contains less puzzles and less story):

"What is this?" you ask. I shall answer "A fun, memorable and VERY charming adventure game that definitely did not get enough attention."
You play Bwana, and follow him on his journey to uncover the mistories of his ancestor. The game is oooooozing charme and I enjoyed many of its puzzles as well even though they can get a bit tricky later. They start easily enough, though and present a good introduction to the games tone. The game also looks great and the voice actors can be very enjoyable, while, in all fairness, some others are rather jarring. This game is still one of the most memorable Adventure games in the last few years and you OWE it to yourself to check it out at a measly $0,25 price point.
Despite the game being ridiculously cheap atm, some might prefer playing the free version since it does not have the at times jarring voice acting and rather charming pixel graphics. A matter of taste really, if you enjoy the free version consider supporting the developer by buying the HD version for a small amount.

Current offers:
This game is not very long at 4-5 hours playtime, but I can imagine you could do far worse than investing $0,25 into bite sized, well produced and very charming gaming good. You now have 85 hours to grab this game from the time this post has been made.

This is without a doubt one of the best point and click adventures I have ever played.
Fantastict voice work, beutiful graphics, good humor, logical puzzles, appealing characters, a great Jazz soundtrack... the game really has a lot going for it. Don't know why it hasn't gained more recognition.
If you have any interest in the genre what so ever you should really give it a shot.
