1 GBP says that he is not comparing YOY sales but MOM, which would be because of holidays.

In these here United States of America, we already know Vita was terrrrrrible in December, we know that PS4 was not a driver, and I don't think UK will be any different. Remote play will not be a significant draw.

I think people getting a PS4 and buying into the now more required PS+ makes them more likely to see value in a VITA. Sales could go up to merely bad.

Such a shame the memory cards are so god damn expensive. If you have PS+ a large memory card is almost required unless you want to be constantly deleting. Enjoyed my time with it, but I doubt I'll ever buy it again. Which sucks because the PSP was my favorite handheld.

Yup, worked for me. It almost felt stupid to have a PS+ subscription with a bunch of great Vita games and not own a Vita.

I've lost hope on the Vita. Sony doesn't do well with reasonable prices -- I'm shocked they got the price of the PS4 right.

PS Vita sales jump %163 in a holiday month where sales jump anyway. I love the vita, but it wasn't just because of the PS4 launch.

Has Sony killed off the PSP yet?

I know there's no big releases for it anymore but have Sony officially discontinued making the hardware and retail games?

If not, I think it's time to kill it off and hope some of those stubborn users update to a Vita. Nintendo weren't afraid to kill the DS to bump up 3DS sales.

While any jump in sales is good news, it's very rarely great news when you get percentages rather than actual figures of units sold.

What time period is he comparing? A 163% increase sounds impressive, but what if he's referring to a week over week comparison where every hardware saw such increases (due to Christmas etc.)?

If we compare November to December in the US, by the way, the Vita was only up about 25-30% (75K in November to 95K in December, if I remember correctly). So this is better than in the US at least.

God. Why did they price the new model the way they did? They could've revived the damn thing.

The Recommend Retail Price is actually 20 pounds cheaper. It's just that retailers have been cutting the price themselves too, so now it appears as a price increase - but that's not the case.

Wow, SmokyDave has lost it.

Edit: Isn't this old news though? I'm pretty sure the fact that it was the black friday week also helped.

Why does it seem like 3/4ths of the posts in this thread are about SmokeyDave?

You've achieved newfound popularity, man. Embrace it with your vault of Vitas!
