Just got Radballs after all the talk.

Usually not a fan of that type of game but I like it! Plus I found out that it tells you your play time which makes me play games more.

Any other good games that tell you your play time?

There's a great little time-waster currently out on the AppStore which seems to have gone completely unnoticed. Hero's Way. Neat little side-scrolling ARPG which involves you placing your three little characters (who can either be a warrior, rogue or mage) wherever you want and they just run towards the nearest enemy and start fighting, either melee or at a distance. Very brainless, but very addictive. Oh and its free with the only IAPs being to purchase more gold (which flows in at a decent rate anyway)

Screenshots below (albeit for some bizarre reason I decided to go with a 2 mage/1 warrior setup on my first run-through, which ended tragically, so these are a 2 rogue/1 warrior setup which seems to be faring much more favourably)

Let me second this one! It's not as deep as Battleheart, at all, but it's really fun. Also, it's universal and free!

I think they're trying to make that alligator in Where's My Water into a movie character or something....read about it somewhere. So I guess they will push the app

EDGE is 99 cents, though you really should have gotten EDGE Extended for 99 cents when it came out since the sequel is superior (don't think it's on sale anymore)

And it just got a massive update. They updated it to the engine from the PC version and Extended, they say it runs at 60fps, and it's optimized for retina display, iPad 2, and even 1st and 2nd gen devices.

hmm after the update, what's the difference from the Extended ed?

Just finished Another World for the first time ever. Holy shit, what a fucking epic game. Can't believe this is 20 years old. This game is so ahead of it's time, wow.

Shame it's too short. Still, well worth it!

So for those of you who have been playing the awesome Monsters Ate My Condo, how long are your average playtimes?

The first time I played a game I lasted about two minutes. The second time I lasted 10 minutes.

Now I've been playing a game for what seems like nearly an hour with no end in sight. Is this normal?

I was sad that I couldn't download it over 3G at work; the original game came on a few floppies, so I bought it after work when I got home. Beating it wasn't that hard, it's amazing how much I remembered twenty years on.

Fantastic trip down memory lane.

I played it on the family's Mac LCII when it came out; just loved it. Probably one of the first games I beat. Was very disappointed when we got a much faster Mac (25 MHz instead of 16!), it became unplayable.

What's with the League of Evil love? Must be a lot of masochists out there. Constantly dying in games annoys the shit out of me.

I grew up in the 80's, that's how most all games were.

Man, I've been so out of touch of the iOS scene. Has anyone made a list of the top releases over the past few months. How about games from GAFers?

It's also about time I finished my own iPhone game which hasn't been touched in months (damn you Uni)!

Where is My Water is pretty cool! The animation is awesome, like pro Disney animators animated it.

Anyone else interested in Com2Us KRPGs? A few of them are on sale for $1 where they're normally $3:

Caligo Chaser
Third Blade
Queen's Crown

I think they're all pretty neat and worth $1 for sure. Queen's Crown definitely was inspired from Minish Cap since it looks it down to the character art.

What are peoples opinion in this game? Is this game entirely a 2d platform puzzler?
Have you played the Wii version? It's basically a port of it and yes, it is a 2.5D platformer/environmental puzzler.

You control the character around like a normal side scrolling platformer, and you control the environment with the touch screen like moving blocks, using them to make your way through the level.

It's a fantastic game and totally worth $0.99

I think you might have the 'gift'. If you've seen The Last Starfighter you should know what happens next.

Holy cow thanks!
Still free btw.

Uhmmm... As I imagined, seems pretty difficult to use that for the weekly challenge then.
I'd be ok with Time Attack but I know some people are going to complain for the randomness. I'd honestly wouldn't care, since every time a bit of randomness was involved in the end the best players made the top5 and the best(est) won anyway.

I love Minotaur Rescue but Minter's game won't attract enough players methinks and it doesn't seem fair to choose a game where we already have truly awesome scorers (same for Wario and Forget-Me-Not eheh).

Also, read all the fair complaints about Jetpack Joyride's unfairness, duly noted and the game is out of the voting pool since it's not feasible picking it up for the challenge.

I don't have Bit Pilot (yet) but isn't that basically yet another endless runner at its core?

The fucking game didn't save at my pause and reset, so I guess I'm not going into space anytime soon.

Nothing quite like when you beat those kind of games the first times. How many times you try to go back, it's not quite as magic as that first experience...

Yeah, it's normal. You just played better the last time! Those are the rounds you want to be gunning for, so you can rack up billions of points. An average round for me lasts about 25 minutes. Then it crashes and I lose my progress. :(

And holy shit, I've just discovered Jetpack Joyride. I love Halfbrick, and own all their games, but really didn't fancy another endless runner. But they've totally nailed the formula. The upgrades and unlockables keep you coming back over and over. The IAPs are very reasonably priced too.

Will definitely keep me tided over until MAMC gets that update, which I am dying for.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has dropped to £2.99.

I know it had some chronic performance issues at launch. Does anyone know if these have been fixed?

They actually released a patch a few days ago that fixes those issues.

Ah yes, sorry. The iPad version is £2.99. The iPhone version has dropped also to just £1.99. I don't think these have dropped before, so if the glitches have been fixed, it's almost definitely worth the download.

Yeah, I see what you're saying there. I wish that Drop7 had better leaderboard support because that would be perfect.

It's a very tricky decision, I don't know if I have anything else that would be applicable... how about 180? It's a great puzzle game by a fellow gaffer, it and Drop7 are on constant rotation on my phone.

I'm surprised nobody has pointed this out already, but Hector: Badge of Carnage Episode 3 was released yesterday. I can't wait to play it, as I adored the first two episodes. They're easily up there with Monkey Island and the like.

Wow, I didn't realise this was out already, that's an incredibly quick turnaround considering the time between eps 1 and 2 being released. Suppose that's all down to Telltale. Good stuff, will download this next chance I get.

wth? How is that even legal?
Of course it isn't.

I can't belive how things like this can slip through the review process at Apple. It's even less understandable when it's a brand that everyone should know about, like the Mario games that have slipped through.

Didn't see it mentioned earlier, but Mage Gauntlet by RocketCat (Hook Worlds, etc) got submitted to Apple. We should see it in a week or two (I'm guessing). Cannot freaking wait for this game!

I always thought it'd be months and months away for that one, pretty neat. Hope it's fun! The video on the homepage is worth checking briefly, the framerate/animation seems very smooth and well done, unlike a lot of other 2D action rpgs.
