Nintendo is planning to hold a series of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournaments at various video game and toy store locations all across Japan, starting next Saturday, March 14. The first wave of tournaments will take place at select stores in Ichikawa (Chiba prefecture), Umeda (Osaka) and Moriya (Ibaraki).
What's interesting about these tournaments is that they won't actually require the participants to play; rather, their Amiibos will be the ones doing the fighting.
Yes, this is am all-Amiibo tournament. They're callling it the "Amiibo X Smash Bros. Saikyou Amiibo Ketteisen"; the Japanese part loosely translates to "the tournament that shall decide which Amiibo is the strongest".
