We love to play games with our children. But what happens when someone else starts to play with them too? Someone we don't know. Can't see. Can't hear. In The Whispers, someone or something -- is manipulating the ones we love most to accomplish the unthinkable.

In the country's center of political power, Washington D.C., several kids have been talking about their imaginary friend. What the parents don't know is this friend is not as imaginary as they assume. And when the mysterious games they play turn dangerous, FBI child specialist Claire Bennigan is called in to investigate. Is this just a case of children being led down the wrong path? Or is it something far more unsettling... as she searches for the answer.

Halfway across the world, in the middle of the Sahara Desert, Defense Department operative Wes Lawrence unearths a strange, haunting geological phenomenon. Are these mysteries connected? The answer will force them all to face their greatest fear. That perhaps the enemy... is already in their homes. As the clock counts down, it's a suspenseful race to save not only their families, but the world. Before it's too late.

The Whispers is produced by Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Zack Estrin, and Dawn Parouse Olmstead. The pilot was written and co-executive produced by Soo Hugh.

To make matters worse, Claire discovers her son Henry is playing Drill’s game as well.

Damn just watched it. I thought it was really bad. Didn't like a single one of the characters, it was absolutely not scary, the plot threads were laid on with a stunning lack of subtlety. I wonder if they'll even finish the season out.

Get outta here Gaz! lol

That title got me really interested because I was a big, big fan of The Ghost Whisperer, but this screams "aliens in disguise" to me...

It does.

Just watched it with my gf, we both liked it a lot however it's one of those shows that can fall apart really quickly. It's pretty intriguing so far though. My guess is also something with aliens.

Definitely in for the next episode at least.

Child acting was grating and there will be a lot of it in the show.

Otherwise, everything else worked for me. A tidy conclusion to the episode will have me coming back for episode 2.

Yeah, child characters so central to the plot is a pretty big red flag for me. Very hard to get right.

I tried the pilot and then dropped it as soon as I realized that children will play a pivotal part in the story.

I really liked episode 2. Definitely going to keep watching. Seems like it could end up being an interesting mystery.

How has the show been? Worth checking out?

Really good. I like it. This thread is dead though so I guess no gaffers watch it.

They're deciding where to go ahead with a season 2 this week.

It's been one of the networks most watched shows so a second season is possible.

Kinda been enjoying this so far. Some of the acting can take you out of it but interesting enough story and suspense.

just watched the episodes which aired till now. Kind of lame that they pulled the only possible explanation for everything ... :-/
