On a side note, Peter Moore told Geoff Keighley during the YouTube E3 stream yesterday that he has no idea what Joe Montana Football is AND that EA has the exclusive NFL and NFLPA rights.

So I guess whatever Joe Montana Football will end up to be, it won't have any official NFL stuff.

It's a life sign at least. *sigh* We need some competition in the American Football genre.

God, it's getting pretty frustrating with the lack of information.

But hey, E3 just started...

Yeah I don't think it'll have the licensed. Maybe it'll show up at the PC conference

Couldn't it be licensed on PC, I'm not sure of the weirdness of EA's deal - thought it was just console exclusivity. I really doubt it will be (licensed) by the look of the webpage.

So pc is for sure confirmed? As long as it has good mod tool then liscence won't matter too much. Would just suck for console players. Unless the creation suite on there is good too.

No license is not good.

If you actually care about gameplay it's better off without the license. I hate the NFL's meddling with things like forcing random injuries only and poorly balanced teams where only about five get used online more than I like seeing real teams and players.

I never understood the appeal of real players in franchise mode either. The older players will retire in five years, younger players will get arbitrary stat changes, and the draft is filled with generic players anyway.

I was trying to watch that interview specifically for that but I was too busy to focus. Thanks for confirming.

Kids these days don't care about Joe Montana.

Whose idea was it to use him on the cover of a game?

Joe Montana... LOL

Get hype everyone

Who cares if this doest have the NFL liscence, itll be modded in incredibly fast if it's on PC.

Will we ever see some footage of this game with 22 players on the field? Why is Superstar Games being so stubborn with information? Unveil the damn thing already! As far as I can tell, they won't even confirm whether or not it will have the NFL license. It's weird.

A good playing football game on PC with mod support would be enough for me and a lot of others who mainly play on PC right now.

Ugh, even though I am PS4 only right now I really hoped this would be published by MS and include the license. While it would not benefit me immediately unless I added another console, any competition would force EA to step up their game with Madden. Absent the license, this game is not going anywhere significant enough to rock the boat. Even if mods could make up for it by adding the teams and names, the NFL will never let them spread that far.

Could this be a PC only game? Could this be Microsoft's surprise announcement for the PC? I wonder if they could have the NFL and NFLPA licence if it was only on PC? Is EA's exclusive licence with the NFL and NFLPA just for console's?

Do we know if this will be a full on sim game? Mobile game?

I hope it's sim... Licensees be damned, I'll buy it if it's done right.

Deep customization options would go a long way. Proper editors for players, teams, stadiums. Giving lots of colors and abilities to create logos, pre-recorded callouts like 'Hawks', 'Bears', 'Warriors' could go a long way with the community in recreating teams/logos, rosters, stadiums.

The license is the huge deal though. Everyone wants to play as the greatest QB of the modern times, Russell Wilson, everyone wants to go beast mode with the incomparable Marshawn Lynch or to play as the greatest team currently in the league the Seahawks.

Hopefully though, the animations, gameplay, and play calling is top-notch. I can see some fans who are disenfranchised with Madden picking this up to get their simulation football feel.

Is this supposed to be a competitor to Madden? Had no idea the exclusivity deal with the NFL rights were over. Where you at 2K?!?

Being that the only licensed NFL game looks and most importantly, plays nothing like an actual NFL game, I could give two craps whether official teams are in it.

Ill take an actual football game over "madden ball" any day of the week

EA exclusivity isn't over. Peter Moore confirmed that yesterday. We don't know how much longer they have the exclusive rights, but evidence points until 2017 for their current deal.

This! I hope it releases for more than PC. What it JMF comes out, destroys Madden in reviews...? I'd hope that the NFL would realize that.... Nevermind. I'll shut up. Wont happen.

Please be good please be good please be good. I don't give a fuck about NFL licensing, I just want a decent football game that I can play. Preferably on PC.

Probably part of whatever Phil is doing at the PC conference. Hopes:

-Cross-save/play/buy
-Mod support
-In depth built-in customization
-Solid career and Franchise modes
-Top tier simulation

Cool. Would I like it to have the NFL and PA license? Sure, but definitely not a dealbreaker. Would love it if it brought back the whole 'hit your opponent' after the play is over bit just to make the point that this game hasn't been impacted by weird-ass NFL messaging.

This is the game that made me anticipate E3 the most. Can't wait to hear more.

Yes, I'm confident this is exactly what they're going for.

Make the game for PC, perhaps even PC first and foremost. Let the mod makers do their work. The end.
