A mysterious black figure, Deemo, plays piano in a place far away from our own.
One day, a small girl falls through a window in the ceiling, landing in Deemo's arms. Lost and confused in this mysterious place, she finds solace in Deemo's company. The little girl explores the mysterious structure that she's fallen into. There are no entrances or exits, only the unreachable window that she fell through.
As Deemo plays his piano, the little girl notices a sprout rising from the ground, responding and growing to the sound of the music. It stretches toward the window the girl fell from.
Their goal is now clear. Play music for the sprout so that the little girl may be able to climb the tree and return to the place she came from.

Deemo
A mysterious figure who spends his days playing sheet music on his piano. A kind and gentle soul, the little girl quickly befriends him. Has he always resided in this place?
The Little Girl
A young girl who fell through a window into a faraway place, and met Deemo. She enjoys listening to Deemo play his music. Once the sprout near Deemo's piano grows large enough, she may one day be able to return home.
The Masked Lady
She seems to be the master of Deemo's world. Distant, sarcastic, and abrasive, her identity is unknown. Deemo seems to like her for some reason.
Deemo is a touch-based rhythm game. As the bar notes descend, you need to tap them as they cross the black bar near the bottom. There are also golden notes that you hit by dragging your finger across them as they descend. There are Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties. There are at least 38 songs in the game, with 68 available as DLC.
As you clear songs, you receive points that add to the tree's height. When it reaches certain levels, a cutscene may occur, new songs may unlock, or a new area may open up for you to explore. A larger number of points are awarded when you clear a song's difficulty for the first time.
Vita-exclusive features are:
- Fully animated cutscenes and Japanese voice acting
- Epilogue not present in mobile versions
- Duel mode where you can play against another player on the same screen
- Duet mode where you can connect two Vitas through ad-hoc and play duet versions of songs.
A white theme is also available for ¥300/HKD$19.
Each DLC pack is ¥480/HKD$28, each containing five songs, with 14 packs in total. There's a complete DLC pack available for ¥4200/HKD$270.
A complete list of songs can be found at the Deemo wiki here, with DLC starting at Collection IV. Don't click around too much, since people aren't really careful with spoilers. Like seriously, don't go to the Deemo character page. You'll regret it.
Is this out in North America/Europe?
Not yet, but RayArk have expressed interest in releasing it internationally. The game already has English text, so it can't be too far out.
Can I get the game physically?
No, it's a digital-only title.
Does Deemo have button controls?
No, it's purely touch-based. It works well and feels good on the Vita's touch screen.
