(its pretty great, being interactive similar to the htoL#NiQ site. Gives a good idea of what the game will look like visually)

PS Vita / Slated for October 29th release in Japan.
Will have both a Physical / Digital release. Unlike htoL#NiQ which only had physical for the highly limited LE version and after that was digital only.

For those who were expecting something live action or "serious" in terms of design might be disappointed.

I personally dig the style though and will be keeping an eye on this title.

Tweeted by NIS.

Since I hate translating things, heres the Gematsu link that has all of the latest info in their post about the game.

I mentioned this in my announcement thread but it's basically an isometric version of the Firefly Diary artstyle.
Seriously, this is NIS, they've been turning more and more to indie/cheap styles.

Crazy thing is that styling can either mean a light hearted variant of horror, like Goosebumps or something, or that it's way more fucked up.

EDIT: Oh, blood splatter there. Welp!

Nice to see them supporting the Vita. Didn't they also try a bit of that 'survival horror' with that Vita-exclusive puzzle game htoL#NiQ? It has a name I can't even say

I don't think anyone was expecting that from NIS.

But I agree, it actually looks pretty nice.

Considering the teaser trailer was live action and how folks generally are these days with weird expectations I wouldnt rule it out.

They always in general have experimented with a lot of genres. A lot of stuff too winds up being low budget outside of their mainline titles. lol

yeah it looks like it's closer to firefly diary, which means it'll be pretty fucked up.

I like how it looks so far! Curious if they'll match the horror elements to the character look, as in not making it too scary or that they'll go all out with it.

Either way I'll be keeping an eye out for this.

From the screenshots am really digging the amount of detail that went into the backgrounds. Very nice design style.

I wonder if they will do a LE version of the game. Right now does not seem to be listed on the OHP. But seeing how well the htoL#NiQ LE did in Japan am surprised they do not have one up yet. Hopefully they will. Am curious also what kind of music the game will have if any.

Couple new pictures showed up in magazines.
While shining the flashlight around some things can be seen from a distance. You can approach them and they'll be just be something innocuous, like a bike or trashcan. Or they might turn out to be some horrible monstrosity, like a giant pulsating tumour spider made of hair with a human face.
Also, quoting someone else:
Heart beat system: little girl's heart will beat faster when dangerous ghosts are nearby. Screen will vibrate and your motion will be restricted. This is to emulate one's inability to act freely due to fear.

That Prinny image is adorable. Now I'm hoping NIS develops a Scooby Doo styled mystery game where you play as Prinnies.

That would be pretty hilarious.

Im actually surprised they have not gone and made some sort of city / town building game with prinnies.

Then again at the same time am thankful that they are not really big on trying to do smartphone games and such as Id imagine that would be the first thing they do lol.

Looks interestingWill buy it once it gets localized.

Have a impression that this cute art style will lead to some genuine horror.

That blood splatter... looks like she survived a car crash, maybe? And what's she dragging behind her? It looks kind of like a dog leash connected to an unfastened dog collar.

May have to give this one a go when it comes out. It reminds me a bit of the feel of Yume Nikki.

Yeah apparently the story is the following

A young girl was walking with her dog.

However, the dog was involved in an accident as a result of her carelessness, and disappeared somewhere.

Her older sister, who saw her return home with an empty leash, went out in search of the dog.

When her sister doesn’t return, the young girl who was left alone leaves the house and goes out into the eerie night of the town, which is completely different from how it looks during the day.

htoL#NiQ was such a wonderful experience. I honestly loved everything about it, even the difficulty. I'll be there day 1 for Nightwatch.

Ugh, wanted to like the game, but now I dont know. Its like how I feel about the Last Guardian...I wanted to play the game but I also dont because I know the Cat/bird/dog thing is going to die because its a Team Ico game...

No worries then, the dog's probably already dead.

Not sure if that makes it better or worse. Guess I will have to find out if this comes to the west.

Also, I am totally down for a Prinny Scooby Doo style game.

I love everything that has been shown so far, I will SERIOUSLY be disappointed if this doesn't get localized. Also I wasn't too impressed NIS America Europe didn't physically publish Firefly Diary, so if this gets a physical release in US too I'm gonna have to get my friend to help me get it.

if a game doesn't get a release at retail, it's usually because retailers don't have enough faith in a product to place an order.

Is there gameplay anywhere?

This looks really interesting, but I don't know how it plays.

Pictures in magazines have some. This isn't a gameplay intense game though.
The monsters have this really sketchy look to them, like some sort of weird pencil art drawn on top of the actual game.

Oh wow this looks so great...

To be honest, since it most probably won't be localized, that's okay in my book. I don't have much reason to buy a PS Vita otherwise
dear lord who am I kidding please be localized to be added to the list of reasons why i should buy a PSV ;_;

NIS America created retail versions of The Firefly Diary exclusively on their Online store, which they then stopped Europeans and anyone not in America from ordering from. NIS America Europe refused to make a physical version.
