On one hand, this is hilarious in that it's sort of an embodiment of the direction gaming (especially PC gaming) is moving in.

On the other hand, it's gonna really suck for people with bandwidth caps or otherwise shitty internet connections.

On the one foot that you're using to try to do hand things while balancing on the other foot because your hands are full- if you're in that situation, why the hell are you gaming on your PC instead of a console in the first place?

They didn't have a finished PC game to print into discs months ago at the start of the manufacturing process. They would have had to delay the game or stick to the original release date if they delayed manufacturing.

They made the right choice given the circumstances people. An installer disc looks bad but a delayed launch looked even worse.

Most steamworks games will also have the data files included.

This is straight up Konami skimping on burning 4 Dual Layer DVDs.
