2016 starts the way 2015 ended with ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ (-68%) still on top in the All Formats Chart.

With no new physical releases until later in the month familiar faces jostle for position within the Top 10. ‘FIFA 16 (-55%) climbs two places back to No2 moving ahead of fellow EA title ‘Star Wars Battlefront’(-66%), which is pushed down to No3. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (16,360 / -59%) moves up a place to No4 while ‘Fallout 4’ (-75%) slides two places to No5. ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Siege’ (-58%) is a non-mover at No6 but ‘WWE 2K16’ (-53%) climbs two places up to No7. Square Enix’s ‘Just Cause 3’ (-66%) is another non move at No8 but ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ (-68%) is down to No9.

A resurgent ‘Battlefield 4’ (-27%) re-enters the Top 10 continuing it’s week on week climb from the end of last year. It’s propulsion up the chart is fuelled by the ‘Gen 7’ formats with price promoted versions of both Xbox 360 & PS3 accounting for 97% of sales this week.

Boring week. Nothing interesting save for ROTR sliding off into the sunset (and Wolfenstein popping up because--?)

Bye Lara.

You hear in the MC threads each week that console gaming is dead in Japan. Here we have a chart where 16k is 4th. Sure puts things into perspective.

enigmatic_alex44

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Wow @ Until Dawn having such strong legs.

I don't remember the last time a game sold so well based purely on word of mouth. Deserved too, great game.

On the other hand, hasn't that very 4th place game sold over 6 million copies in the UK alone?

Well, after 10 weeks of sales, i think the comparation can end here.

10 weeks since release:

Black Ops III - 31,248 / 1,871,039
Advanced Warfare - 32,751 / 1,905,279
Ghost - 31,870 / 1,878,067

That's the second week in a row now that a game on a Nintendo platform hasn't featured in the top 40.

Wow @ Until Dawn having such strong legs.

I don't remember the last time a game sold so well based purely on word of mouth. Deserved too, great game.

And then you realise that it probably sold about 40 copies this week. That's how weak the overall charts are.

Black Ops II was another planet... It sold like 1.54 million only first week, that's more than what Ghost / AW / BO III sold in 6 weeks.

Yeah obviously, considering the install base. Still, I'd like to see the chart. Get crackin' :p

Bye Lara.

On sale for £7 at GAME and Amazon. Same reason 'Evil Within' is back in the chart.

Really surprised with 'Tomb Raiders' slide, as it could be had for under £30

Black Ops 3 will have some insane legs just like its predecessors.

Game on PS4 is selling like Crack, already almost 11.5m on Core leaderboards and almost 6m on Hardcore and 9.5m on Zombies.

Hugeee!

Top 40 with zero 3DS or Wii U titles on it. And there's people in the NX threads hoping Nintendo just keeps on doing what they're doing.

By the time they get out VI, the gen will be almost over.

Kudos though. V is a gem and deserves all the success it got.

Until Dawn must have impressive sales for a game that barely had marketing, Tomb Raider is still tanking in UK and BO3 still at top, boring chart this week overall.

The fact that the drop was only ~25% last year is insane. 2014 was also the year of the PS4 / XBO version... Those legs are massive.

Really curios to see how will sell this year.

Barely any marketing isn't really accurate. It had quite a bit of marketing.

Cinema ads, bundle ads, etc.

Sure it had a bit of marketing but I feel like The Order for example had more while being a worst game from Sony and it can't even compare to marketing monster like COD, Witcher, Battlefront etc...

it's what I meant by barely any marketing.

Until Dawn seems like an episodic game like Walking Dead or Life is Strange with higher production values.

Those full games are $20, so I can see Until Dawn coming out at $30-$40. But $60 was NEVER going to work.

I don't understand what you're saying, it released at 60$/70€ and it was already hard to find on week one here in Paris.

Hey guys it looks like Rise of Tomb Raider is... *puts on glasses* UNCHARTED.

Is what someone is going to say next week.

The exclusivity storm and loss of discounts for Tomb Raider is irrelevant, for a major AAA release to virtually drop out of the charts in barely a month is a fucking disaster.

It didn't just get trampled by other releases, it actually looks irrelevant as franchise again.

Was released two months ago, Nov 13th, not barely a month.

Tis a big drop though but Lara is probably used to those now.
