What is SCE's "Team ICO" working on?

alr1ght

bish gets all the credit :)
I heard he was interested in a PSP game a long while ago, but haven't heard anything since. Perhaps a PS3 game? Now that, along with MGS4 of course, would push me over the edge on the PS3.

I think EGM mentioned a new Ico/SOTC-type game in their rumors section a few months back (about the time SOTC first came out). They've usually been pretty good with their stuff (except for the Bon Jovi game. That was just wrong).

ps3's hardware secret? extra slot on the back of the eyetoy 2?

they name it "eye" toy for a reason! your one-eyed snake has to have a toy, after all.

Their trying to get their patented "Framerate Subtraction Technology" to work on the PS3.

I kid, I kid.

Can't wait to see what they come up with on the PS3, give them a break, just give us a HD SotC and ICO with better framerate.

I just wonder what direction Ueda will go in this time....

More of an expansion on the ICO/SotC style?

Something completely new (sci-fi Ueda :D)?

A dance-dance Ueda game?

It'd be amazing if Ueda showed something at TGS...I'm kind of skeptical, though. But they're definitely working on something, that's for certain. And it will probably be amazing.

Whatever they do, no more time attack or extra modes. Just beef up the main journey. That completely flies in the face of the illusion they're trying to create.

Man no. The time attacks in SotC were ****ing great. I played them over and over trying to cut my seconds of monster slaying down. If they could 'beef up the journey' in ADDITION, that'd be awesome.

Anyway, I want a story that takes place in the land before the sacred place became cursed. When there was the civilization that made these colossus.

Then the game will take a collossal amount of time if you get my drift.

with entire massively dynamic vistas where the landscape is alive and forever changing, roamed by multiple colossi where , this time , you can enter in side them and have to navigate the inards too

How about an endurance mode in ICO?
See how many shadows you can fight off before Yorda gets taken?
No I don't know why I tagged that either.

Hahaha, yeah... still, it's the sort of thing that makes you giddy thinking about it. Would be awesome

Yes! I remember when I first heard the concept my first thought was that you WOULD be able to go inside them too. Obviously, PS2 power was a little too small for that sort of amibiton. I can't even imagine the size a next-gen system could afford these Colossus. Definitely, the innards idea is AAA. God I hope that's made.

I really hope they keep the open ended world like in SOTC. The world actually felt alive and I loved exploring it.

The ICO team has always made games that made you feel isolated, obviously an emotional extreme they wanted you to feel. I wonder if they'll try for the other end of the spectrum.

I thought it's already confirmed that it is?

He didn't really say. He just said he wants to make one. This is about all we know

All is not lost, though, based on Ueda's other responses. When asked if he's interested in making a PSP game, he responds in the affirmative, adding that he's wanted to make a PSP game for some time now. He feels that he and the ICO team are good at making games with a realistic world, but believes that if they were to take a different approach -- using "SD" (super deformed) style big headed characters, for instance -- this could result in an interesting game as well.

For its last question, Dengeki asks Ueda if he feels three years is too long for development. He agrees that it is too long, and hopes to shorten the development time as much as possible. This may not be possible, though. "If we were to make our next game, it would, naturally, be on the PS3," Ueda explains. He goes on to state that there are many areas of the next generation system where the format has yet to be decided, and so development could end up taking a long time.

If its for the PSP i'd like them to try something different instead of trying to replicated ICO/SoTC's style on the PSP. The PS3 will be where that style can best shine.

Colossi platforming is one of the greatest stuff I've ever done in gaming, especially the flying ones. I hope they can come up with something similar, yet different (or not, I don't care) on the ps3.

No. Team Ico shouldn't even dream of SD. It is not their style.

It seems to be Ueda's idea for it and he hasn't let us down yet. I'd like to see him try something in an overall different style even if it is SD.

I could see them digging up their old pre-SotC concept and putting it on the PSP. I doubt Ueda would be heavily involved though... they didn't invest in a lot of new equipment for nothing - I'd say it's pretty damn certain they're in the midst of PS3 development.

Whatver they are working on, I can't wait to see it.. I absolutely adored both ICO and SotC and I'm not even considering buying a PS3 until Team ICO's game is out for it

I'd love to get a tease this year for it but I don't really expect one

One thing's for sure though, the game will be fantastic

There was no PSP game confirmed. He just said that if he ever were to make a PSP game he would use a different visual style, like deformed heads or something like he said.

He did confirm that his next title would be on PS3. Look it up on IGN its all there.

I hope it retains the awesome visual style of ICO and SOTC. OMG!

Oh and yeah I wouldn't expect a tease this year but it wouldn't be impossible...

No fighting shadow dudes. SotC perfected everything Team Ico was trying to do. The hassle of fending off those shadow creatures was gone and it made the game ten times better. Just scouting a landscape devoid of enemies in search of a giant was beautiful and peaceful. It let you create a very rich narrative in your mind.

I'd rather they did something on the PSP next. Of course, i want to see a next-gen game from them, but there's already tons of awesome stuff happening on PS3, and they'd stand out more on PSP.

Actually I kind of agree. I think the PSP needs more loving from Team Ico at the moment than the PS3.

I want a PS3 game,it will be a long wait though.Probably they're just beginning actual development on their next gen title (although the new concept should be ready).
